traineeships and attachments take up rate also not good according to previous news
seriously who will want such roles unless rly super super jialat, no way out, no other options, cmi, no money liao and etc.
How many percent for pmet have their profession displaced?
5 percent is how many months or years remain unemploy?
Sheesh do you have an inability to read beyong the headlines?
Quoting from the article you posted:
4.9% of Singapore citizens are unemployed. FFS That's 5%
No wonder Singaporeans are so gullible, everyday just read misleading headlines so they can sleep better at night?
This only means foreigners have jobs and we dont since total employment rate incl. foreigners is 3.6%
well...another explanation is that even traineeships, they are very selective and didn't call everybody that apply up.
5% is still very low. Majority sinkies remain complacent. Need 50% jobless to jolt sinkies into reality.
In countries such as Laos the unemployment rate can be over 30% and that is not the worst. In other places like Ethiopia 70% unemployment is normal.
5% is amongst the lowest in the world. There is nothing to worry about as most of these people are simply in the midst of changing jobs for the better.
We have PAP looking after us, nothing will go wrong. Perhaps only if you are living in sengkang then there might be a concern or 2. Otherwise our estates are well maintained and there will always be electricity and water.
Nothing to worry about

Sent from East Coast Plan Planning Committee from East Coast using GAGT
Headline:
Singapore’s jobless rate climbs to 3.6%; more than 20,000 retrenched year-to-date
The rate among Singaporeans and permanent residents went up from 4.6 per cent in August to 4.7 per cent, while the citizen unemployment rate increased from 4.7 per cent in August to 4.9 per cent.
This brings the total number of unemployed residents to 112,500, of which 97,700 are Singaporeans.
I think after 6 months of unemployment, they are removed from the Labour force participation rate. So they are not counted as looking for a job. So the overall unemployment rate falls since they are removed from both the numerator and the denominator.
It's a numbers game.
Because SG garment is responsible for anybody in the world that want to come to singapore to have a job not to sinkie citizen only.
