I recently stiffened my leather bags with Kyoshin Leather Stiffener, it is water based. I did not mix more water in the solution, which turned out to be a very bad idea.

The originally lifeless, soft leather became hard. So hard you would imagine it to be a leather placed in the desert for a few good years. Bending it made it crack a little on the smooth surface, I did not try bending it anymore. Applying more obeanauf's leather oil on both surface of the leather did not help.

Btw, since I applied the leather stiffener @ full strength, the leather stiffener turned the leather darker/black.

Is there anything I can do to salvage this?

Any crafters here looking to sell their scraps? I'll be happy to buy them off you. I need small pieces for laser cutting, so probably anything larger than 2x2 inches. Pm me with a some pictures and I will get back to you. Thanks!

Hi,

Interested to have a custom made key holder that is able to hold 1-2 cards in them (similar to OGL picture below and LV 6 key holders?) but don't want to have any brand label on them. Plain button.

Any recommendation? THANKS IN ADVANCE!

Sun Tan it for about 30mins-1hr and apply very very thin layer of LP on it. (left over residue on my fingers after applying on my boots)

Just gotten this awesome leather keyholder cum cardholder from toby88.

Service
Top notch service by toby88, from start to end. Answer every single queries I asked even before I confirm ordering from him as I have few other artisan approach at that time. Explain all small little details and give recommendation through his experience in leather craft. He even went an extra mile by taking photos with some samples for small details like thread etc. The whole ordering process is smooth and reply was prompt.

Product
Definitely over my expectation and price was reasonable for a custom leather product. Fitted my requirement for keys and cards. The weight feels just nice and when on hand it just feel great. Overall very nice quality and hopefully would last me few years down the road.

Would definitely get more stuff from him in the future, when my school starts perhaps.:s8:

P/S: Sorry for not replying to some leather artisan that pm me as I'm still serving and not really convenient for me to check my PM regularly.

I'll be in China and will be visiting the factory.

I can purchase the following for those who want to have a set of leather tools to work with.

These are sold in bundles by the factory. So if you don't need any particular item, I can't take it out.

This is going for S$160.

This is going for S$145.

This is going for S$120.

Payment have to be made in full (via bank transfer) before I make the purchase. I already have a full set of tools thus I don't need extras, should anyone bail after I make the purchase. Besides, internet transfer will have the records so you don't have to worry it being a scam. Pick up of tools will be at Alexandra Arc (closest mrt is Labrador Park).

Here's what I did for the scratch on my "Tony the Ant"

Kena scratched... Sian...

Spoon it with Saphir Renovateur (cause don't want to pay for deer bone)

Caked it with AE Cordovan polish (applied too much actually, you'll see why I should have put on lesser amount)

Brushed the hell out of it. Scratch is gone but still have to do more brushing to take away the extra polish...

For some reason, mine is very prone to scratching so I do this like once a month since I had mine last Oct... How's it for the rest of you horse ass owners? :D
