As you guys probably know by now, the Nerf Recon and Longshot can only use streamline foam darts and these are currently not avaliable in singapore or m'sia at this point in time. Therefore, the only way to get them is to order from the states.
It can be quite costly to get a steady supply that way, so there are 2 alternative methods to create more streamline-compatible foam darts to fit the Nerf Recon and Longshot.
The first method is to buy Foam Backer Rods (FBR) from hardware stores and then "manufacture" your own foam darts. These are commonly called "stefans" by the nerf community. It'll require matching the right foam size and dimensions, along with abit of cutting and shaping work. So if you are good with this kind of stuff, you could try it and see if it works for you.
The second method is to modify existing Nerf foam darts. Here is a simple foam dart mod i did a while back and it works quite well (re-post from an earlier thread):
Step 1:
Get a pack of 30 Tagger foam darts refills from any Nerf store.
(around $11.90 a pack)
Step 2:
Get a pack of 3M rubber bumpers ($10-$15 at any DIY hardware shops),
then pluck out the top cap of the Tagger foam dart.
Step 3:
Glue the 3M rubber bumper onto the tip, use proper modelling
glue or else the rubber tip will easily detach when fired.
Step 4:
Presto! Ready to match the streamline foam darts.
You can use any soft material to replace the foam dart tips, experiment abit and see what works.
Hope this simple foam dart mod helps!
