where got???i enthusiastic but just cannot find the parts nor know how to make....
onli stuff i noe how to do is to do tniy mods with nerf guns =)

Yup, there are people who have been making these DIY air pump guns for quite a while, i remember one of my friend's hobby group spent some time building these things last year.

Their designs actually became quite advanced, i'll check if they are still into it. :)

Items Needed:
4-5inches of 1/2" PVC
about 5 foot the same 1/2" PVC
2 connectors for different sizes of PVC pipes
a 2 litre bottle(mine's a 1.5 litre coke bottle which is fine as well)
a cheap pump that can connect straight into the bottle
hot glue gun
a screw driver
a ball valve
and 2 3-4" of pipe slightly bigger than 1/2" i think its 0.7'

Steps:
1.Grab your screwdriver and heat it over a stove

2.Use your screw driver to make a hole in the bottle for the pump.

3.stuff the pumps pipe into the hole you made with the screw driver and seal that with hot glue make sure it air tight

4.now take the 4-5" of PVC and tape it to make it thicker(or you might wanna get a different size pipe)(also dont tape all of it!!!!)

5.Now take you hot glue and apply some of it on the inner side of the mouth of the bottle this part is extremely important as if you apply it on the pipe it will just squeeze out and your hot glue is wasted.

6.now take the taped pipe and shove the taped side down the bottle mouth

7.now grab a connector and fix it onto the side of the pipe that's not taped and then grab the other sized pipe that fits the connector(you moght want to ask the guy running the store what size pipe fits the connector

8.now fix your ball valve onto the bigger piece of pipe

9.now take your second bigger piece of pipe and fit it with a connector the stuff the side that's not connected to the connector into the ball valve

10.now take your 4-5 feet of pipe and connect it to the connector and WALAH! your done

where i got the parts:
o.k i live in Serangoon and the sad part for some of you is you live far away and i got all my supplies in my area
so yeah anyway i got my pipe from a handy man shop around the maket area in serangoon central very near the fruit stall like just around the corner
i got the ball valve the connectors and the slightly bigger size pipes from another handyman shop cos the first one did'nt have those but you might want to get your piping at the second shop i went to cos i think they have good piping as well as brass tubing and other sizes
the pump?well i got mine at NTUC or Cold Storage i can't remember XP at the toy area sect ion
well the second shop is at serangoon central BLK 261 hope this helps
EDIT:oh yeah i does'nt open on sundays cos' i juz checked

As you guys probably know by now, the Nerf Recon and Longshot can only use streamline foam darts and these are currently not avaliable in singapore or m'sia at this point in time. Therefore, the only way to get them is to order from the states.

It can be quite costly to get a steady supply that way, so there are 2 alternative methods to create more streamline-compatible foam darts to fit the Nerf Recon and Longshot.

The first method is to buy Foam Backer Rods (FBR) from hardware stores and then "manufacture" your own foam darts. These are commonly called "stefans" by the nerf community. It'll require matching the right foam size and dimensions, along with abit of cutting and shaping work. So if you are good with this kind of stuff, you could try it and see if it works for you.

The second method is to modify existing Nerf foam darts. Here is a simple foam dart mod i did a while back and it works quite well (re-post from an earlier thread):

Step 1:
Get a pack of 30 Tagger foam darts refills from any Nerf store.
(around $11.90 a pack)

dartmod01.jpg

Step 2:
Get a pack of 3M rubber bumpers ($10-$15 at any DIY hardware shops),
then pluck out the top cap of the Tagger foam dart.

dartmod02.jpg

Step 3:
Glue the 3M rubber bumper onto the tip, use proper modelling
glue or else the rubber tip will easily detach when fired.

dartmod03.jpg

Step 4:
Presto! Ready to match the streamline foam darts. :)

You can use any soft material to replace the foam dart tips, experiment abit and see what works.

Hope this simple foam dart mod helps!
.

yeah or you could actually take the top part off like you do and make "stefans" captainslug style(if you don't know him look him up on nerf haven or youtube)

yeah you probably want to get a 2" PVC pipe as an air tank since it can hold ALOT more PSI safely

ok i know that the art friend an swee lee there does'nt have foam
all the hardware shops i went to say they don't have foam
so wheres our next option?
anyone got free time can check out the art friend at taka?
