Wow... thats a really old nerf blaster from back in the early '90s.

NB-1 was one of the first air blasters from Nerf to use foam missiles, i had one too, along with the good ole' Nerf Bow n Arrow. These really retro models. Talk about a blast from the past!

Is your NB-1 in good condition? 'cos there might be some nerf collectors who may be keen on it. :)

Just got back from my christmas shopping downtown too, the holiday crowds are crazy! Had to queue almost an hour just to pay for my Longshots.

Anyways, quick update, OG Orchard and People's Park have completely sold out all their Longshots. Last i saw, OG Albert was down to their last 2 boxes.

Takashimaya has sold out all their Iron Man Blasters, though they still have some boxes of Longshots on display.

Not surprisingly, there are still hundreds of boxes of Hyperfires, Strikefires and Nitefinders stuck gathering dust at all the stores, i think they might as well give them away as freebies! :D

note to longshot owners...

the mechanism inside hastens the destruction of the streamline darts

I have not found a solution to it yet >_>

dont blame the gun....
its you...the dart gets torn cause sometimes the darts jam up and be using brute force to make the bullets fire....
the darts get torn...
so if u take special care your darts wont tear...

Longshot Tips!

Glad to hear more people getting their Longshots!

Being a bolt-action magazine-fed nerf blaster, the Longshot is very similiar in operation to an actual rifle, so the same operating principles apply. Those of you who have done your NS will know what i mean. :D

Since there are now alot of nerfers with Longshots, for those of you who have not handled bolt-action mechanisms before, here are a few tips:

1) Load the streamline darts into each magazine properly, with all the dart bases touching against the back magazine wall.

2) Try not to use bent or damaged foam darts, these are guaranteed to cause even more jams and they wouldn't fly straight anyways.

3) When cocking the Longshot, pull the bolt handle backwards and the push it forwards fast, all the way to its full bolt travel (not slow and halfway), this will help ensure that each foam dart chambers into the barrel properly.

4) Remember to "check clear" your Longshot before keeping it, either by checking underneith the magazine port or via the sliding breech cover, then press the trigger to ensure that the spring is already released. (There is a practical reason for this, you wouldn't it to sit for days with the sping compressed resulting in deteriorated spring strength right?)

If you practice enough, you should be able to fire foam darts perfectly from your Longshot most of the time. :)

it's not that...

actually it happens to all CS-6 models...

the tip of the streamline darts foam part will tear a bit...

it's due to the spring door mechanism when the bullet is cocked into the chamber...

it's forced in.

Yeah, i know what you mean. Magazine-fed nerf blasters will always have a higher tendency to jam (compared to the simpler open barrel nerf designs), so they require more care to use. :)

I've found that if i push the bolt handle forward slowly, the rubber dart tips will tend to catch onto the blocker plate and get dragged downwards, so i've discovered its best to push the bolt forward fast so that there is less chance of the tip getting stuck with the blocker plate.

Anyways, its not a big issue for me, i get Longshots mainly because they just look cool for my display collection! :D

... unless someone gives it to me for christmas...

That's probably your best solution, just inform your close relatives (the more generious ones) what you want for christmas. It'll save them the hassle of guessing what you like and getting you stuff you don't want.

My nephews have been telling me they want Longshots for christmas so that's what I got for all of them as presents this year, made my christmas shopping so much easier too.

It's always worth a try. :)
