Doubt it. You're asking for the phone to switch security method based on time period, which would mean screwing around with the security built into Android.

But you might have success with replicating it with a 3rd party lockscreen replacement. Have the 3rd party one activate immediately on screen off, but the default security lock delayed activation. But that would probably mean after 5 minutes you will have to unlock twice...unless u find a way to kill the 3rd party app right after the security unlock.....

Or u could find a case that makes the power button very hard to press accidentally, root and use touch control.....

OK, I was coming from CM based ROMs on my older phone, which had this feature, but of course, they had access to the framework source...

Well, you could always flash CM to ur N4.....but I don't recall current CM10.1 having such functionality.

Meh.. Google apparently disabled the ability to load kernel modules for the stock 4.2.2 kernel.. Touch Control doesn't work now.

Other than Faux and Harsh, anyone else knows of any enhanced stock kernels that work both with Touch Control and FauxDisplay? Faux's enhanced stock works with FauxDisplay but not Touch Control and vice versa for Harsh's...

one quirk.

when putting in silent mode, all the apps and games do not automatically turn silent.
so sometimes when i wanna play in toilet the gamesounds go off.

any settings to enable this?

i didnt bother to update it..im still on 412...im rooted anyway so i can always flash when the touch control working on 422.

been using the phone abt one month now,really nice..no sign of lag or problem that some users is facing..
really an excellent phone for day to day use..

the display is fantastic too.using faux kernel here.
i pick up my gnex & s2 for the first time today,suddenly both looks like toy

I am also seeing better battery life after upgrading to 4.2.2. In the past, I am left with about 50% at around 5pm. Yesterday, my first day on 4.2.2, it was 65%, will monitor further.

Ahh, then it must be a feature of custom rom. I always change my keyboard using this feature. Other stock rom users can share their method instead.

stock keyboard can also switch to other keyboard/input method by holding spacebar.. but once switched to Google Chinese IME keyboard I can't do the same method, gotta use notification bar again.. so whenever I need to input chinese.. i'll just be lazy and press the speech key and use speech to text for chinese too much hassle changing keyboards

Is there a way to set screen lock such that after 5 minutes, it locks with PIN/password/pattern, but 0-5min it's just a slide lock? I don't wanna keep authenticating if I'm with the phone, but I don't wanna accidentally unlock my phone while it's in my pocket or something.

I do it this way, so I can always reuse the phone without unlocking with the pattern within 5mins 'idle' time.. even if i press power button and put into pocket, and take out of pocket within 5mins time..

In Display:
Sleep after 30seconds of inactivity

In Security:
Automatically lock after 5mins

Power button instantly locks - uncheck it

Media volume is separate from Ring volume, which is why when you mute your ring tone, your media volume is not affected.

You may wish to try this widget to mute/enable all volumes at the same time. Hope this helps

hey, you should upgrade to 4.2.2 ASAP if you can...

Noted the following improvements on my n4:

1. better the battery life. 1 full charge can now last more than a day for me.
2. better 3g connection. Previously i noticed there is a lag whenever I tried to use 3g, but not anymore
3. faster charge as compared previously

Yes yes, correct, this option available.

But when you use slide to unlock, this option is not avail.

I'm using Kii Keyboard, has pinyin input too but has stock keyboard layout and gesture typing. Can switch between language with spacebar longpress

i got notified that 4.2.2 is ready for download....but touch control still not fixed, so never upgrade.
