i think he ordered the previous version of the chromebook. the one you see should be the updated one.

for the benefit of those bro or sis, if there are any, i cannot content myself but to access the Google Play store just now. just to be a mythbuster, well, sort of. i have a AMEX with SG billing address and as you guys can witness in the screenies below, Google Wallet indicates it as 'unsupported payment method'. which is not surprising to me but just want to confirm it once again. in case you are wondering, the card that i use is AMEX Platinum and i have been with them for more than 10 years. so it couldn't be new card issue or anything of sort (sh*t, think i watch too many episode of Mythbusters).

on the second screenshot, you can see while trying to add a card, it shows Billing Address with US under it, indicating that Billing Address has to be US. really, it is a no-brainer and the same goes for the states where there is no option for anything other than their 52 states.

i hope this information helps, especially with the screenshots to prove :D

i heard someone mentioning about Paypal and Debit card... i would love to try those too. damn, i am just so curious about the many claims and if there are loopholes or whatsoever, it will only make me one happy online shopper :s13:

previous version is Intel CPU. the new one is ARM SoC - which is what he said he bought. think i am quite sure about the Intel and Samsung Exynos 5 dual processor :s13:

still, i can't find any older model ever since the new US$249 model been announced last month. maybe i was mistaken?

Apparently someone previously said the Amex must be not from local one is it? Haiz.....this is a dreadful headache.

So far only concierge service like buyforme seems to be the safer options, they are afterall based in US with US credit card and shipping address. Only risk via that route (less the higher pricing) is that by the time u direct them to buy, no stocks liao. :D

If cannot get directly from Play Store then wait for reseller lor....or till more loopholes appear. :D

just to test things out as well, I went ahead and ordered Nexus 7 cover from Playstore last Monday, order went through using mg OCBC debit Mastercard, however it seems they haven't deducted my account yet even though the order was already sent for delivery and I received email indicating they have already charged my card. I'm a bit worried they might suspend my Google wallet account.

Coming back to nexus 4, aren't you guys worried about the low in call volume with the phone?

Every review keep mentioning this issue.

End of the day its still a phone and its primary job is to make phone calls right?

Where in which review mentions this? I've read almost all of the Nexus 4 reviews out there right now and I've never read any of them saying low in call volume. I could have missed it, care to point it out?

i'm quite sure that can be improved with software.

PLEASE REMEMBER GUYS, ALL THE REVIEWS YOU READ ARE NOT OFFICIAL ANDROID 4.2 JELLYBEAN, THEY ARE TEST SOFTWARES WHICH ARE NOT FINALIZED, hence take all reviews with a pinch of salt.
Or be like me, and screw all reviews until the 13th of November.

As I recall there were reviews that talked about the weak speaker phone for both Optimus G and Nexus 4.

Given Google's love of betas, I'm pretty sure even the release version also not final. :D I still remember Gnex's stumbling fumbles out of the gate in the beginning. :D
