No confirmed news for local set till now.
Based on N4 experiences, I think no regrets bah, you probably need to pay a premium for local warranty. Those bought overseas also got warranty, just that need to send back to country of origin and that is only if the set got problem.

I think there's a higher chance of it launching here earlier than not.
From no launch in the earlier Nexus, to N4.

You can see progression in their logistics.

Sending back to overseas for warranty is as good as no warranty since the 2 way freight charge is enough for pay for repair in Singapore

imo if it's sold by local play store, the pricing will be more affordable compared to LG Singapore....

for now, both Google Singapore and LG Singapore have no plans to bring the N5 into the local market.

I myself ordered one 16GB white from the Australia Play Store with a help of a friend who is studying there. If the reports of it coming to Singapore turn out to be true, I am both happy and angry.

Happy that we do not need to wait so long for future Nexus releases.
Angry because I bought from Google Play Store with no local warranty. That happened for my Nexus 4. For LG Singapore to repair my N4, I have to spend close to S$100.

Judging from how fast ASUS Singapore sell the N7 (2013), I believe the N5 will come to SG earlier than N4 did, but the price, as many have said, will be more expensive than what Google sells on the Play Store.

Hey guys,

Would love to know how you guys managed to use the JP Playstore, because for me whenever I pressed a button a notification on the top of the screen says an unexpected error has occurred. If it's convenient, I would also like to know how did you guys handle the shipping and stuff? I see mention of vPost and tenso etc and hope someone would care to enlighten me on these topics. I have been scrutinizing this device since 3 months ago and am kinda upset with google having the usual country-discriminating way of business. Lastly, if I am not very urgent on getting this phone, would you suggest I wait till the Nexus 5 appears on Amazon? I think it is easier to buy it then as it is meant for everyone to buy and google can't cancel our orders etc... also will the Nexus 5s on Amazon have the D821 international variant? I don't mind getting the LTE compatible one if I can LOL.

I really like the G2. The handling is one of the best, the display is GORGEOUS to the max, and I like the KnockOn feature. The camera is not bad too!

BUT one major turn off is the slow software update from LG side. And of cos the LG interface.

If only the N5 design sticks closer to the G2 - e.g the display and camera ....

So honored that a HWZ editor replied me.

The fact that LG mobile SG didn't even have a media set to circulate around tech sites for reviews/first look probably reflect on how insignificant the N5 is to them compared to other bigger players like Asus or Samsung...

At least there was a leak of N5 at Malaysia LG prior to the official release date.

If it is officially in spore, touch wood anything happenes to n5.. At least lg Singapore provides techical support in spore without having to ship back to origin country. This is gd.

I just ordered, so here are the steps.

1) Register at Forwarding service connecting overseas customers and Japanese online stores [ Tenso.com ]
2) Send over photocopy of your IC/driver's licence/passport front and back. They just want to know your name and address as Japan's laws dictate they have to do this.
3) Install VPN, I used OkayFreedom. https://www.okayfreedom.com/
4) Get a Japanese connection using OkayFreedom.
5) Go to https://play.google.com/store/devices/details?id=nexus_5_black_32gb and select your choices. I used Chrome's Incognito mode (Ctrl-Shift-n) so I can translate the website and avoid signing out of my real Google account)
6) When you click checkout you will be asked to register a new Google account. Register for it with the address provided by Tenso. (Guide here: Shopping on Japanese Websites)
7) Click buy and wait for the item to arrive at Tenso.

There is a slightly cheaper forwarder, Tenso Japan at http://jshoppers.com/forward. But it seems most people use tenso.com .

Not sure when it will appear on Amazon.

Actually with Google launching Google Books in SG, i think there might be a chance that Nexus 5 will be sold through the playstore, although probably a slim chance nonetheless. Haha

You are not alone man. I am having the same issue. Over one day already but no email, no status change and nothing at all. But I think they are reviewing our accounts in this case and somebody mentioned that it might take about 48hrs.
