Yup, already did that, still no go.

You confirm have LTE on your plan hor! I know its a stupid question but just checking :s12:

Download nova launcher. Run it, on the home screen, add a shortcut > activities > settings > Long press "Phone Info"

Should take you into a screen that looks like that:

Scroll down to:
0znqEpJ.png

Below set preferred network type, Click on "GSM auto (PRL)" or whatever that is selected there, should show you a list. From that list, select LTE/GSM auto (PRL). Reboot if it doesn't take effect.

Let me know if that works. If this doesn't work then I'm not sure of what other ways liao

Hey guys, just some info to share.

I'm on Singtel 3g-only Plan. Inserted the SIM card into N5 JP set and 3g/HSPA works fine(not 4g as my plan does not cover). Did not change anything in the settings and therefore the Network Mode in Mobile network settings is set as 'LTE'.

Will be upgrading to 4g plan in the coming weeks and update again.

Thanks for the replies guys. Ok so after double checking everything on my end, I realised it must be Singtel, and true enough after calling and checking with them, it turns out my 4G wasn't activated yet.

I recently switched from 3G to 4G to get a micro sim as per my recontract.

Anyway so while on the phone, the lady kept pitching me for an upgrade to 3GB, I told her no, just activate my 4G please.

Anyway long story short, if you recently switched to 4G, please double check with the telco first that all is activated.

Otherwise I can happily confirm LTE is working fine on the Japanese set with Singtel.

Saw my post? Can Help?

Hey guys...

With all the post on ppl getting their hands on Nexus 5 from Japan Google Store, I'm really really tempted to jump in and get the 32GB...BUT only 1 thing that is of my concern and stopping me now...and that is the WARRANTY.

If I get Nexus 5 from Japan Google Store, how is the warranty coverage in Singapore gonna be like? If the phone suay suay got problem then how? Bring where to repair or RMA? Locally got repair centers? Izzit have to ship back to Japan for the warranty?

Also, if buy Nexus 5 from Japan Google Store, will the phone's 4G LTE work with Singapore telcos' network?

Those who got it already please report the status back. Please help answer my queries and after that...Nexus 5 HERE I COME...

Thanks in advance!

Anyone can help me with the questions above please? Thanks so much!

You switch, means your data plan is decreased right? Unless you switch to 4G while maintaining 12GB?

I'm not too sure about RMA procedure but i think should be something like this, correct me if i'm wrong coz i also need to know:

Warranty wise you have to contact Google JP for RMA, no local warranty.
Then from there Google JP will inform you what address to ship to. Maybe you can ask for a local address to ship to (not sure if this will work)
After that Google JP will ship back another N5 (also not sure if you can request to ship direct to SG)

OMG I don't know why but after flashing Franco Test8 kernel, I realised that when I have Line message notification will have Green notification LED.

I think stock Kernel should also have ba. All these while my notification (email) is white LED

Go to Google Play Store and cancel from there.

Hi, thanks for the advice. I went to play store, under "My orders" the status is Pre-ordered. Is this correct? I did not receive any email though. Should I cancel and order again? Can those who have received their Nexus 5 advice what is the normal sequence of events? Like once you ordered you should receive an email or something.

Thanks alot.

those who say no need LTE is just defending themselves

LTE is FASTER and coverage is everywhere liao
~7mbps VS ~60mbps speed

maybe you are still on the 12gb 3.5G plan, but how long can u siam?
eventually also will be LTE
until singtel offer same amount of data as HSPA...

really LTE is fast i know but with the paltry data...really no point....it's like giving you a ferrari but only 1 litre of petrol.....i will take a honda with one carton of petrol, thank you very much......
