is there any buying guide around?

I want to buy a 32GB White one but obviously the SG Play Store doesn't allow purchases...

Tracking info showed that my package arrived at Singapore EMS processing yesterday night. So... it's possible I might receive it tomorrow! If everything goes well I'll probably make another purchase.

Google play in Japanese

Hi, anyone's imported set from Japan have their google play store in Japan mode? The apps are in Jap-centric. How to change them into local?

I've just received my Nexus 5. $49.10 for GST. Anyway I'm on the 310K series model so no amendments on the buttons and sound grills. Apart from that, the device is working smoothly for now and pretty snappy in terms of the UI's responsiveness.

EDIT: After posting this, I came across this thread. Mean anything to anyone owning a Nexus 5?

Mine hasn't come yet. Looks like mine won't be sent today. :( May I ask, what time did you get yours, and what region of SG are you in?

edit: as I clicked Send (no kidding), the guy knocked on my door with the package. :p

Over the weekend tracking indicated arriving in SG. Today morning said it was in dispatch. I'm staying in Jurong and it arrived at 14:00. You may want to check SpeedPost website with your tracking ID. You'll have a clearer picture then.

Also with my earlier post, does this thread mean anything?

Will everyone please stop talking about different hardware versions? - xda-developers

Yes, means there is no hardware revision full stop. Even with bigger speaker grills, it won't make the mono speaker sound better than HTC One speakers for example.

Also the same case as with the rattling buttons, even with the later batches, there are still some sets with same issues.

Hence, as long as your set got no issues, don't look for issues.

Thanks buddy. I've already made up my mind cause I really can't find any issues and don't really feel up to the challenge of 'banging table' with Google. Effort required.. Unnecessary. Thanks once again.

Going to ask because this was a consideration for me. My phone arrived in a box measuring roughly 20x14x10cm (was it the same for you, funkster?), meaning the volumetric weight would have been roughly the same as actual weight. By vPost it would have cost $23.80, i.e. not significantly different from what I paid Tenso.

I am going to purchase again (friend asked me to help) now that this one was successful so, question is, for those who purchased 2 at the same time, what was the size of the box they came in?

Got my phone today. Didn't kena GST heng! phew

Lucky! I don't quite understand how some get charged with GST while others don't. Like for example, I had ordered the Chromecast from Amazon when it first released (kiasu.. I know :p). But I did not get charged for GST via DHL.

I kinda ripped the handset right out of the box. Could not control it :D But the measurements you indicated is more or less the same as mine. In my opinion, I believe the packaging should be the same if we had ordered via the same route as being discussed in this thread. When it comes to but more handsets at one go, it'll be hard to determine but Tenso has this consolidation option which may be cheaper right?
