I'm a s2 user and intending to switch to XS soon. How's the batt life compared with s2? I don't know if it's Go launcher that drains more battery. but my s2 dies on me a lot outside.

Brother, take note that your S2 battery is lithium ion though the capacity might be higher than Xperia S battery capacity.

Just take the battery capacity in Galaxy Note, it is so much higher than Xperia S but due to its 5.3 inch screen, the battery life is worst than Xperia S.

lol........there must be some app somewhere keeping it awake.

in my case my "alarm manager" was the one keeping my phone awake during idle.....it showed 3 hrs le after one day of usage...

i rooted my phone.....got rid of some of the bloatware like timescape.....now it sleeps soundly and drains at 1% per hr....which i can live with

hence in reality, ur phone shld have better battery life than mine.

download cpu spy....see if ur phone sleeps through the night....it will say "deep sleep" right at the end. this is a free app

just bought.

of cos la.

Thanks Timberland. Read in some other forums that after a few charges, the battery will "burned in" and improved. Let's see how it goes after one week.

By the way, what is the best way to "drain" the battery?

Thanks.

Having used both the X10 and Xperia Arc, I have to just say that the battery life is indeed weak when I bought the 2 phones. It does take some time (a couple of weeks) for the battery to burn in for those 2 phones. I suspect that's the case for the Xperia S too. A few full charges / discharges will not hurt either.

As for auto-brightness, it's most probably similar to the Arc, in which auto-brightness is turned on by default and cannot be configured by the user. See here for details.
