Some of the samsung phones are using pentile RGBG display which does not look good when displaying words or small characters. According to some, the pentile display is worse when compared to normal RGB display.

This explains the differing display quality among samsung phones including many terms - amoled, super amoled. I usually see their products at a developing phase which I dont see in other brands. :D

i google some more
hmm seems ike amoled most of their strongth point is
viewing pic and video but weakest link is looking at text

as they r u using amoled pentile matrix type of panel so tats why
and SE is not using it
but its on led back lited up so its text or font is more clean and sharper too
so more natural color than over saturated color on a amoled display

so depend on the user preferance

still wonder hope arc hd will be coming in soon
before march

Super AMOLED = pentile matrix = 2 subpixel per pixel
eg. GS, G Note, G Nexus.
Super Amoled Plus = RGB matrix = 3 subpixel per pixel
eg. GS2
LCD = RGB matrix = 3 subpixel per pixel
eg. all SE and most of the others

Arc and GS2 uses the superior RGB but Arc has higher resolution of 854x480 and higher 233ppi vs GS2 with 800x480 and 217ppi. So Arc wins.

G Note and G Nexus uses the inferior pentile matrix but they partially compensate by their high resolution of 1280x800/720 and high ppi of 285 and 316 respectively.

The ideal screen would be a HD with RGB(regardless of Amoled or LCD) which no current phone has. The Nozomi will have that :)

Beyond that, a 1080p (RGB) screen will need to be at least 7inch to make sense so we won't be seeing this kind of resolution on phones

I compared Super Amoled vs Super Amoled Plus vs S-LCD vs TFT vs LCD with Bravia Engine before, I still prefer LCD with Bravia Engine. S-LCD on most of HTC phones also looks alike with LCD with Bravia Engine but the viewing angle lose to LCD with Bravia Engine. Both Super Amoled got bluish tints when view from side...

I have tested the new Nexus which runs on ICS and not very impressive, they are also using Super AMOLED and the colours on the screen is similar to S2, it sucks all time compared to Sony Screen.

The specs of Google Nexus : Samsung Galaxy Nexus - Full phone specifications

We have yet to see any nexus phone from sony.

If possible next year, nexus with sony camera lens + bravia screen + walkman functions. :D

Don't think that Google will work with Sony cos they already bought over Motorola so the next nexus will be from Motorola.

AMOLED tends to have colored tints which are irritating once you see them, S2 at least is damn obvious.

Just curious, were you able to test the readability of the screens on GN vs Arc S under sunlight?

No, I was unable to test the phone under sunlight.
