hi all,

I have a Acer M5630,I just bought a Leadteck PX8800GT 512DDR3, however it requires 2 power cables and I only have 1 available, according to some sources, I need to change my PSU, to prevent power surge or failure to my system. Hence can I check are all PSU standard size ? or I must look out for the exact size ?
Whats the recommendations here ?

Hello, i am complete idot with PSU.

Need some advise with chosing a suitable PSU for my aging PC. I intend to replaced my spoiled AGP Leadtek 7600GT Graphic card with either a HD3650 512MB or a HD3850 512MB.

Specs for my computer.
P4 2.4G
Cosair Value RAM 1.5G
Mobo : 865PE Neo 2-S dual channel memory, AGP
2 HDD, 80G and 40G
1 DVD drive
17" CRT monitor
Current PSU: icute 450W, 12V 20A (Its written in a table at the side of the PSU, sry i dont know much about this)
(has been a gaming PC for a long time already)

Budget around $80.
I saw that these cards need 30A from some 12V rail or something, not sure what PSU can power up my system with either cards installed and still workable under heavy or maximum load. Are these new graphic card suitable or i should just get a POV 7600GT?
Will some kind souls please advise me?
Sry i know AGP is aging, but i couldnt afford upgrades for the whole PC ~>.<~

I am thinking of upgrading my CPU to E8500, and very soon my GPU to probably a 4850. I have doubt that my current PSU can support it. What is a good PSU that can support my above purchases, AND have enough room for future upgrades in the future?

Meaning I don't want to have to change my PSU again when the next (or even next next) generation graphic cards come out. I have NO INTENTION of going SLI/Crossfire, etc. Thanks a lot.

Lately, my PC auto rebooted after mins of booting up (few times), also my USB mouse & USB Keyboard suddenly no light (no power), is that mean PSU problem?

I most likely will get this setup:
- Gigabyte GA78MG-S2H + AM2 5000+
- 2 x 2GB RAM.
- Samsung 250GB HDD
- DVDRW
- 2 to 3 case fans.

No O/c for this rig and unlikely to add in more stuff, other than 1 additional HDD in future.

Here's my own chart, but, yeah. It's going to work.

Minimum PSU Requirements (Does NOT include other stuffs like processors, HDD, etc.)

ATi 4870 = 350w
ATi 4870X2 = 600w
NVIDIA GTX280 = 500w
NVIDIA 9xxx series = <500w
NVIDIA 8xxx series = <400w

Processors + GPU (depending, suppose that other parts take less than 500w)

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400/E8500 + 2 NVIDIA GTX 280 = 700W
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400/E8500 + 2 ATi 4870X2 = >1.1kW
Intel Core 2 Quad QX9770 + 2 ATi 4870X2 = >1.2kW

Actually, they really depend. If you wanna overclock, + water cooling, etc. They'll go up VERY VERY fast. I've seen Trubritar on YouTube, he has a Intel Skulltrail 5400 Express, 2 Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9770, 3 GTX 280s, 8GB RAM, etc, and on idle it's 550w.

The corsair one is not as efficient and is not 80 plus certified, but has a 600W 12V max combined watts
The Acbel one is more efficient and is 80 plus certified, but only has a 516W 12V max combined watts.
So which one wld u guys recommend? Plz help Thx

just some points for you consideration

both has 5yrs warranty and is modular.

Corsair has sleek modular cable and is more quiet.

Acbel has blue LEDs if you like bling in your case

Wah so difficult to choose just for PSU, which is better in performance? if they are the same i tink ima get da acbel one. But how abt other PSUs lik the aerocool 650W? is it good? lik is it efficient and modular and stuff. And how much is it?
