Mvision has lenses that are compatible with the different tiers from Zeiss/ Hoya/ Essilor, but will require some changes to the settings to make the switchover more seamless.
Customers that we've converted couldn't tell the difference between a Mvision lens from Zeiss/ Hoya/ Essilor.
That's sound good.
my next question will be .. is the price friendly :)

Index 1.67
R 700 ; -0.75 CYL; 180 axis; ADD +1.75
L 625 ; -0.75 CYL; 180 axis; ADD +1.75

This is my existing lens degree. If need to match to Hoya Lifestyle v+ Lens. What will be the price range look like.

🤣 How to answer leh. Most shops send to Zeiss authorized lab to do.
Okay. So eg essilor done at essilor labs? Hoya done at hoya labs? So it doesn't matter which optical shop u purchase at right? The difference is just the price point? Quality wise will still turn out the same?

SV mostly yes. Can't really screw up too badly there.

Progressive nope. Alot more factors comes into play. Brand/Design is just 1 small part of the whole package

Hi all, sorry for hijacking this thread.

I am looking to try out contact lens, and it seems like Capitol Optical has the widest range of contact lens available for astigmatism. I saw on their website that First-time contact lens consultation costs $45 which I think is quite steep. Does anyone know if this is waived if I were to purchase 2 boxes of contact lens with them?

Can tell me more about this?

SV lenses are like "Off the shelf medications". Basically any brands can solve the issue. only difference is how good they perform.

Progressive are customized.
Its like going to a doctor for a problem you have, they don't just prescribe you something based on brand.
Will need to know:
1. Your condition (Prescription, eye muscle coordination)
2. Your problem (Issues you are facing with. E.g. Blur @ near/ intermediate | Heacaches | eye strain)
3. How you want it resolved (Focus on problem only? Increase overall comfort of spectacles?)

Only then will recommend specific progressive designs from the different brands (Zeiss/ Tokai/Hoya/ Asahi-Lite / Essilor) based on what suits your need more.

The higher the level of skills of the optometrist/optician, the better the overall comfort you will experience.
Unfortunately, many new practitioners are selling based on brands/design directly without understanding what clients need or even what they are selling (Just point to the most expensive ones 🫣 & when clients have issues, just point at brand and say brand not good)

Spent the last week going through almost 200 pages in this thread. The amount of info is amazing. I'm looking to replace my current progressives and also get a pair of office lenses.

Got a couple of questions if anyone can help:

1. Anyone with experience using O+ frames? It's a local brand, prices are mid-ish (almost 300). If I can, would like to support local.

2. I live in the Beauty World area and Mee Mee is like an institution. Has anyone tried them?

3. Transitions lenses. I've always wanted to try but slightly put off by the residual tint, which to me looks quite err...ah-pek. Is the tint less obvious these days for newer lenses or any particular brands?

Thanks!

Can pm me the price for hoya progressive lens price ? Thanks

Hi!

Hoya has quite a big range of progressive lenses.
Probably provide us with more specifics to assist your request better:
1. Your distance/near prescription
2. Current Progressive design
3. Daily visual task (Seeing near, intermediate or far more?)
4. Requirement for material (Clear/ Sensity)
5. Requirement for Coating (HVLL/ Full control)

Was quote the following 1.74. 800+ degree
1. Nikon lenses with blue light filter, $730 (upgrade to better lens for free)

2. Hoya lenses, $840 without blue light filter (+$70 for the blue light filter) I was told this is the same lens I'm using but my current is 1.67.

Reasonable pricing? Which lens should I pick?

Currently my lens is from hoya slightly more than a year. Company able to claim that why I decide to make a new specs.

Not sure if we can switch glasses frequently? I'm thinking of getting a frameless design and will switch between my current frame specs and frameless specs. But I think our eyes need time to adapt?

Both 1.74 index for 800+ degree. Reasonable pricing? Which lens should I pick?

Hoya has only Full Control (~25% blue (HEV) filter)
NIKON Pure Blue UV is a blue absorb lens (~94% blue (HEV) filter)

Both are different products, so cant compare.
