Sorry, the 1.7k RM is inclusive of the frame?

Started having Presby a few yrs back (cant see near, need to take off specs to read labels LOL). But currently still in "denial" mode hahaha. Was considering getting the Ownsday Prestige (+200) to try but then, counting in the cost of the frame, probably not far off from the price you paid (if inclusive of frame). ALSO... i dun usually take good care of my glasses - drop, wipe with clothes, etc etc so dun wan to spend like 1-2k sgd on a progressive haha

To all experts:
is there glasses with Monofocal (one side far one side near) like contact lens for presby (basically 2 diff power normal contact lens)?

i dont have good experience with ownsday progressive lens.
find them inferior..

i'm using lenskart for almost 3 yrs but still find hoya is more better
more smoother
but definitely better than ownsday

online is $150 but dont have my size..
lucky, this shopin JB sell me RM500 since i'm doing lens with them

Thanks. Just that i have not used progressive before so thought try out Owndays since its not expensive. Think if i dun get oakley like you, maybe cheaper XD

well, i returned the owndays within days as its really not comfortable nor smooth.

Is it normal that progressive lens peripheral vision is less, even within the upper "distance" zone of the lens?

Hi fellows, for reading glasses, is there concept of astigmatism? & also for reading glasses, are there still the concept of high-end lenses like Hoya Nulux those kind (asking cos I have this perhaps mis-guided impression that reading glasses are commodity products that are sold at petrol kiosks & Daiso)?

Also, supposed if budget allows, what are the considerations that one can work with when getting reading glasses prescribed.

Note: not referring to true progressive lenses. I'm thinking of making reading glasses (for daily work) since some optician informed me that my degree may not have stabilized enough to "watse $" to make higher-end progressive lenses.

Yes, if you go for a higher tier progressive, it might reduce the distortion at the side.

To a certain degree (pun not intended), astigmatism might affect clarity of reading glasses. Commodity products sold can work - just for emergency/ 5-10 min short usage. It is not for everyone. Why you ask - Cheap quality plastic, pupil centre not accurate, prescription is not the most accurate.

Progressive lenses are never a waste of money. It depends on your usage for it. Good vision is priceless.

On the contrary, that's the thing: I do wanna invest in a good pair of reading glasses, i.e. mid-to-high end; but was curious if there's even such a tier for reading glasses.

Then I came across Hoya SupeReader & Zeiss OfficeLens...

as feel tired whenever I’m looking at monitor during work, with my progressive lens need to titled my eyes down to get clear view.
and when I’m home looking at tv, about 4-5m away for my sofa. I need to slide my glasses down to my nose to use the top part of my lens to see far.

Yes. Those are an upgrade. It gives you a little more range - think slightly further objects and even close up. - All up to the professional doing the testing for you and letting them know your needs

If your frame is rectangular and wide, 1.74 and 1.67 not much difference. To see the most benefit, you need to get round frames.
