went Owndays, they claimed the Oakley frame is curved, their lens not so curved, may bend the frame.

brought frame to specs shop at Sun Plaza. $160 for normal 1.67 lens. Good service. shop name - Visual Art's Optics

After more than a decade with a neighbourhood optical shop, this time round they have screwed up my progressive lens prescription (spent $1.4k), and I have sent the glasses back for them to rework. Starting to looking for a new optician/optometrist.

How to tighten the screw so the frame not so loose.

This is normally a quick fix at any optical shop. Either just tighten it with the correct screwdriver or sometimes they will just replace with a new screw.

In the unlikely event that the thread has worn out and they tell you to replace the frame, you can try DIY at home if you have delicate hands and tweezers to wrap plumbers tape around the screw to increase friction and tighten the frame.

Hi all, me planning to change my spec as my current spec is 6 yr liao which I got from TB.
Half rim titanium for 45++ and lens prescription locally for $20 from a neighborhood shop


My question is do plastic type of frame have thin version? If it durable?

I see some ppl the plastic frame is very thick and some the frame handle is plastic but the rim is thin (so not sure if that plastic or metal or both)

Me prefer durable, thin frame and light

Any advise for just a simple lens to see far, and my old flower just hang it on my forhead if need to see near.

Prefer not to spend so much maybe less then 400 or best is 300. Cause i check my eye yearly at snec.

Brand is not important, quality of frame more important even if it OEM.

Or should I get my prescription from poly then go tb to buy?

I must say it had been a pain locating a retail outlet that carries this brand.



Found and called the local distributor to ask which shops carry this. The person told told me: "the person in charge is not around, try any optical shops in Orchard."

I guess they no longer carry this.

Fine. i Googled, and called a few shops that have previous posts stating they carry this. All of them told me: "We no longer carry this."

Finally, i found this shop in Coronation Shopping Plaza in Bukit Timah:

Called them and they said they do carry it, but only very limited stocks, and you will not be able to order any particular model which they do not have.
Cosy little shop, with friendly staff that are not pushy. I suggest you make an appointment instead of walking in. Sometimes they may get busy and you have to wait. A rather ulu mall, not as if you can do much shopping there
