For blue light lenses, as you know by now,
it helps to reduce the amount of blue light entering your eyes. Most lens brands now come with them,
Hoya-Bluecontrol, Essilor-prevencia, Zeiss-Blue protect. EnergizeMe is a type of antifatigue lens from Zeiss. Antifatigue lenses are made in such a way that is similar to a progressive lens BUT, the power at the bottom is meant to help to relax your eyes.
Normal progressive lenses lower segment is to help you for reading purposes and computer thus the reading power can be from +1.00 all the way to +3.00. Take note reading power and distance power is not the same! I can explain more about it if you all are more interested.
To your Questions:
Number 1- In the past, Zeiss was usually the Go To Brand but of course at a higher price, but recently they have repriced themselves thus the prices are more competitive with the other brands. IMHO, i feel that hoya has now reached the similar standards and thus are fine between both of them. The hoya lenses that is quoted to you is called stellify, for 1.67
STOCK lens level, you cannot make blue control with it as blue control for stock lenses only goes til 1.60 index. If you want 1.67 lenses with blue control then you have to pay slightly more to
customize the lenses.
Number 2- Depending on your AGE group and your lifestyle, progressive may/may not benefit you. Usually when you are above 40++ then you will need to use progressive. Digital lenses are very similar to anti fatigue lenses, differences is between the extra power at the bottom used to relax your eyes. Digital lenses has a higher power reduction choice as compared to Anti-Fatigue.
Transition lenses(lenses that turn dark when UV light comes into contact with the lens)... If you go outdoors alot then it is good for you to choose so it can help to reduce the glare when you are outdoors. If you are thinking of using it when you drive then dont bother as our car windscreen already has UV protection thus the lenses will not turn dark as no UV is passing through. Thus the main thing is, i need to know your
lifestyle, age and also any particular difficulties you have with your vision right now to decide what kind of lenses is better for you!
Number 3- Crizal is a coating of the lens from Essilor. They are a well known lens company so dont worry! 300 for 1.67 i assume is together with Prevencia(blue light coating). All those prices that were quoted to you earlier on is the
RRP Thus, there should be discount added in later on.
Number 4- Not to worry. You can find a frame that you like in shop A and make lenses in B as all lenses comes in a ''round shape mould'' that has room for edging(cutting).
What i mean is that it comes in maybe a BIG size lens then the edger will size it down. Shouldnt be an issue, if you want the lenses to be thinner, you can request the lens to be done in minimal edge thickness(METS) BUT only if you are Hyperopic(+power) and not like majority of us who are myopic(-power). Earlier on i mentioned before, The important thing to take note of when choosing a frame to ensure that lenses are not too thick ,would be the
frame size. The bigger/longer the frame, the thicker the lenses will be. Then of course choosing a higher index lens 1.67 would reduce the thickness considerable!

- 550 to 600 degrees with Astig (i duno the numbers).

I was quoted $300 for Crizal 1.67 (neighborhood shop). $240 for Hoya 1.6 (mall). $450 for EnergizeMe 1.67 (mall). $380 for Zeiss 1.6/1.67 (cant rem) (mall).
Questions:
1) Which is the top brand out of the above 4?
2) I read the pages, what is Transition Lens, Progressive Lens, Single Lens, Digital Lens? Which one fits my requirements?
3) $300 for Crizal 1.67, is that ok? At those shops in the malls, nobody ever introduced me Crizal first, although they do carry it. It makes me doubt the Crizal brand...
4) If I buy a frame from shop A (mall), and go to shop B (neighborhood shop) to do the lens, should I be worried if the lens fit the frame? cuz usually i do both together. Anything to look out for when buying the frames? I am worried if the lens come out thick.
