U mean Ic Berlin after discount 470+ 500+?
I saw the display price at 600+.

Why Nikon 1.74 cause many didn't mention about Nikon here but on zessis and crista instead.

Well lol they used to be retailing for $470 :s13:
I saw some around 530 recently can't recall where
They'll price themselves out if every pair is $600

Nikon's a pretty good lens coating is clear and tough
But cost isn't something palatable fOr many
So it's less. Common

Overall transition lense have less complain , I have feedback on zeiss photofusion that white object seem a little bit of yellowish. as photochromatic it changes slower and not as dark as transition.

Haven't compared the current generation that was just launched
But I've always felt the previous generation was slower compared to photofusion

Plus I noticed a lot of people who told me they bought "transitions " didn't actually buy transitions

Peeps.. I need to get this specs before year end so that I can claim from my company for wellfare claims.. I am looking at simple black frame like Derek Cardigan 7021 but seems like e only way I can get is thru coastal.com. any experts know where to get it in sg? Claims not valid for online purchase..

Also, if u know any alternative that is similar, rounder and less edgy frame, can intro?

Things to consider before getting transition lenses
- Your pupils dilate/enlarge to try to take in more "light" when transition lenses turn dark, same concept as you entering a dark room. This will potentially increase the amount of UV rays entering your eyes into the crystalline lens and the retina.

Why is that so?
- "All transition lenses have 100% UV protection" - This is very true but note that most normal spectacles do not cover your eyes all round. Hence, UV ray can enter from the uncovered gaps, such as from the top and sides of your spectacles. With dilated pupils, you are inviting more damage as compared to clear lenses with UV protection.

My views: Get a good sports sunglasses w/ inner lens prescription if you are going to be outdoor very often. Sports sunglasses usually protects your eye all round due to their curved nature to fit the face. Otherwise, just stick to clear lenses with UV protection to minimize the damage.

Speaking in the perspective of health-conscious consumer.

On the bright side, transition lenses look cool and reduces glare :D

The above said are all my opinions; take it with a pinch of salt. Hopefully, research can be done to prove/dispute this.

i guess people just want transition lenses to be convenient in and outdoors. always good to really look into our real needs before deciding the suitable choice.

Just bought this IC Berlin from KSL shopping center, BERLAIN SPEC SHOP.
Service and knowledge was good from the SE. Recommended....
Frame : 1200RM. JAP LENS 1.6 with progressive 1400rm. Very comfy when viewing computer, proviously my progressive need to shift my head higher when viewing smaller letters.....

Hmm.. 1200RM for the frames doesn't seem that much cheaper than Singapore anymore.. Perhaps JB shops adjusted their prices upwards ..

only the older customers seem to think it looks cool lol, younger kids especially girls "eeeeeeee, rike unker, donch huansss"

i've actually done transitions on sports sunglasses before
and generally transitions are not meant to be one size fits all, what you just said is the general recommendation. you fit the glasses according to the situation . (i still wear my transition glasses and sunglasses)

gap wise, it's actually not as serious an issue here as most asians don't have a high nose bridge and wear the glasses quite close to the face . while most trendy "sports sunglasses" are curved and don't cover east asian big headness as well as flat glasses or worse, wearer can't wear curve lenses
when the curve pushes the glasses out.

there was the backsurface uv coat thing ....
and a lot of wearers, like lenses smaller than their faces so there's really not much room for reflection of uv rays with big heads and high cheekbones +big foreheads

it's much cheaper on average, not rockbottom cheaper,
1200rm would cost you 5-600sgd before the hike in exchange rate
roughly 30%off both frame and lenses of the prices here
it's not impossible to find here but only specific shops offer that up front with the manpower costs and rental
(my ex colleague mentioned his first job in an ulu malaysian shop as a sales clerk gave him a monthly pay of roughly 200+sgd, versus coming over and getting paid 1k+ , rental of shopping centers here and shops there might be more than 10 times the differences)

:s22:

this issue :):s13: also exposes our hypocrisy , we want cheap prices when we pay but want our value to be appreciated
without natural resources we're unlikely to be like japan

My experience with transition lenses is good really reduce the glare etc very good for sport but but after I didn't use transition for new specs.. My eyes like suddenly cannot get use to the glare from concrete floor under hot sun. Then after maybe few months later get use to it.
