oh, so transistor is even cheaper than wingspan?
wad other oakley models do you have? Do you have the experience of wearing oakley plastic frames? Is the fitting good on our asian nose just like their metal frames range?

I read somewhere that Oakley prescription are MIC whereas its sunglasses are Made in USA only. I do not know how true this is, but it would explain the price. If you check Oakley's official website, you will see they have glasses for Asians.

I don't like plastic frames, Oakley or otherwise, so I don't wear them.

Prescription should be made in china . Nowadays got a " China " word printed inside the frame .

ya, that explains the coarse workmanship as well. However, I dont see the word china on my frame though, i would rather they print it as made in USA, that way i feel better even though we noe that all frames are MIC. hmmm precription frames arent that cheap as well, they would have cost a few times more than normal frames. But the sunglasses do "look" better than their prescription frames, looks stronger & mre perfect. I guess if they have factories in asia, then they wont make it a point to have them made in USA & ship over to asia.

that's one thing i realised too. i bought most of my frames in china. the most recent frame, i bought a full titanium frame for only SGD$20. most aluminium frames can be bought at SGD$10, and those plastic frames are around SG$4
a set of titanium frame with plastic lens cost me SGD$40. (I needed a super light frame for my cycling, weight weenie, hehe)

for those travelling to shanghai, go make a frame at the shanghai railway station. it's kinda like a SimLimSquare, x3 the size, but all the shops selling specs.

I had Flak jacket, the lense touches my cheek. No that comfortable.
Now I use Fast Jacket Asian fit.
Slightly better than standard fit. It has wider frame with narrower bridge. Suit Asian face shape better.
I hope Oakley can come out sports model with adjustable nose pad like Rudy project.

My ray ban cockpit is made in china.
Similar price as those made italy one.
Quality wise as per ray ban standard. But i still prefer make in Italy to be printed on my frame though...

oakley frames seem to be all touching the cheeks cos we dont have high cheekbones & the frame curvature seemz to be more than normal ones.

Asian fit model doesn't touch my cheek.
It has flat frame which doesnt curve that much.
You should try them.

I GUESS france workmanship, quality and/or QC have deteriorated as well. Look at their frames closely.

I had a bad experience many years ago with Tag Heuer frame. It was not comfortable at all. I was initially skeptical about purchasing a new Tag frame. However, wearing it for a month, I realised that the new frame fit me very well and very comfortable and light after some adjustment.

Looking at my current pair of Tag - workmanship is acceptable. Again, it depends on individual. What is Ok to me may be considered as shoddy to others.:)

Depends on what model you select and our face structure and also how adjustment is done on the frame.

hais, should i just give up on branded frames & just buy those unbranded since its the same quality. Cheaper & can change often too.

So far I have not seen unbranded frames that are comparable to the branded ones in terms of quality and comfort.

To me, never start buying branded frames. You will never go back to the unbranded ones. Just my opinion.
