haha no la but i have absolute trust in the bros here =:p:D. so they recommend seng li that why i no worry loh haha.

and i agree i have good service with seng li. they have hell lots of branded frames. those who are brand whores, can go there see..:s13::):D=:p;)

Hahah. Yeah true true. At first I was planning to get just one pair. Came out from the store with orders of 2 pairs. :s22:

Nice service and yes lots of selection.

Which Hoya lens should I go for as I know there are many different varieties.

Since my degree is low I no need get 1.67?

My pair actually dont have degree. Its astig for mine. 175 for both and just a 50 degree on the left side. So your requirement should be almost the same as mine?

Well I'm not sure how many hoya lens they have. They dont seem to have different hoya lens. Well they dont really offer me different type maybe cause of my budget? Just trust them that its the best for my pair.

You can go over and ask I guess? Or maybe someone expert here can chip in.

I'm happy with whichever hoya lens they give. As far as I can remember its the usual coating. (from what i've been told). They say is the good/high grade type.

- anti reflection
- anti uv
- scratch resistant
- for the computer one
- the lens very clear

Don't know what is exactly the lens name though.

Glad to hear that. Able to try from your chinatown shop?

Afraid not. My optician informed me on the spot when the Dun agent was at the shop, and he seldom drops by, so i got the chance to preview it before it hit the stores, not sure when it will be launched in sg. I think you got to wait for another month or so.

yes, i would recommend you to drop by their shop one of the days and try. You wont be disappointed. They have other brands as well, like Special Eyes (made from a special type of polymer), bywp, yellow plus, etc. They are still taking in stocks, so you should go after cny should have enough stocks for you to view by then. But i got to tell you first, its v unlikely for you to find $100 frames over there. Pay a bit more & im sure you will get what is worth.

LOL! If i am looking at a 100 frame, i would settle for any of the shops in parkway.. (nearer to my house) :p

I am prepared to pay for good frames/lens. Though $1.3k (frame alone) is stretching my budget by a fair bit, if it fits me, it possible i might just go for it.

Haha, you managed to see all the colors? Whats the difference between grey and white? Can't really find good pictures online.

Was using this as a guide.

hmmm other models which are not in the luxury collection would cost lower all ard $400 same as the Dun-2051. But the temples design would not be as obvious or special as the LC-002 which has a carbon temple (you can see light reflections on the carbon temple at certain angles).

Black colour doesnt contrast well with the carbon, silver is more shining, and gray has slightly darker texture than silver, white very different from gray and is the loudest attention seeking among the four colours.

After i get my LC-002, model 2058 may be my next target, or they may be rolling out new designs in march or else end of 2013. If you notice you can see the dates at the bottom right corner of the page for the different models in the catologue. 2051 is launched in march 2012 in japan, whereas some of the new models are in dec 2012.

So, i will be loading my bullets & getting ready.

I would go for it if they are TRANSISTOR, EVADE or KEEL.

I have a replacement Oakley Black Transistor brand new unused just the spec alone. As I bought another pair of Red Transistor. If you are interested offer me a price. Thank you.

Well bro, base on ur "low" degree, i would say that 1.6 index would be more than sufficient. However, for lenses wise, Hoya, Nikon, Essilor, Zeiss has their own group of support...

Based on a professional view, i would suggest that perhaps Hoya has given the Optical shop mentioned here, better $$$ deals, for them as a strategical business partner.

Nonetheless, hoya is indeed a decent lens company with good lens quality.. but there are other company that fares better in different aspects.

Is AZ Optics Centre at Queensway a good shop to go to?

Well, depend whether the GOOD here, you are talking about refers to Pricing or Professional ethics...

I have my personal reservation of view regarding QWS shops, no doubt there are definitely honest business owners, but the bad ones are just too many...{ POV base on the feedback that i have heard from my own patient's]

Need help here from bros, bought an Hoya lens too however the one side slightly blurring image at certain angle. Send for replacement (but I am not sure whether the shop really did send in for new lens replacement not) collected the spec. today, lens still feel blur as before, so thus my suspicious whether the shop did really return to Hoya for replacement.

After careful inspection, I found some really fainted line, 4 of them of about the same scratch shape, anyone encounter such defect before?

Well bro,

1] prescription wise, probably u could seek for another shop's eye care professional's 2nd opinion. and also the verification of the prescription printed and produced.

2] the 4 hairline could be mishandling by human errors, well but depend on where and when u see these 4...

Good place for u becos you want cheap. $100 definitely u can find alot there, even cheaper than that AZ also have. But dont complain if the end product ends up not as good as u expected lor. If you are a chin chai person who just want someting to pop on your face, couldnt be bothered abt other aspects, and just want it to be the cheapest, then that is a damn good place for u.

If u did not request for specific Hoya lens, most likely Seng Li will be giving u Hoya 1.6 HVP.

If u want better grade, u have to tell them u want Hoya 1.67 SFT. SFT coating is better, but unfortunately, it does not come in 1.6.

how much is 1.67 SFT?

think 1.67 is overkill for 100 degrees hmm
