lucky you able to snag up the shell wallet which got sold out so fast:(

This was based on an older design actually. I don't fancy corter newer designs sadly. The anchor hook logo doesn't sit well with me. Instead of waiting for corter, you should really give falerbrand a shot. His workmanship is as good, if not better. I've seen an actual wallet of his and its well worth the wait.

Find it hard to navigate their products that is for sale. Or they specialize in custom work hence they have no actual sales page?

Haha alright ! thanks for the recommendation ! followed them on instagram alr;)

To clarify, both are all handmade and handstitched. Corter products are more on a mass scale while Faler products are strictly on a custom basis, less the massdrop ones.

in SG, a 2-tone or monotone BV wallet is less than 700. $680 to be exact.
even for exotic skins, its slightly more ex than Europe for BV.

alot of luxury goods, i don't recommend buying at Changi Airport transit DFS... the so-called "discount" is non existence.
watches... maybe... but not luxury goods.

K4k488, i will suggest get a BV wallet and a Braun Buffel or Renoma Card holder.

Wallet for your notes, Credit Cards, NRIC. Card holders for your EZ link, ATM, SAFRA card, discount cards, membership cards.

I agree. Put ezlink card and other membership cards can help to reduce wallet from stretching when stuffing in too many cards. Especially for BV, the leather will stretch if put too many cards, which will cause the ketupat to spoil easily.

It's really hard to photograph shell cordovan wallets because the nature of the leather is just so complex. It's always best seen in person under natural light. With each person I show, I poison one person with shell cordovan. :s13:

the depth of #8's colours is just jizz

** i should stop looking at #8 watch straps

Haha, #8 shell colour is indeed jizz. I missed out on navy shell from horween before and I think it'll never be available in future anymore, at least not for independent crafters.

Shell watch straps are rather thin so it depends on what watch you're pairing it with.

Thanks bro. How is the quality for Bally and Dunhill wallets?

How about Dunhill?

Once you go custom, branded wallets are really nothing. As a conversation starter, branded wallets are always just going to be "oh, you have a LV/Prada/Gucci etc. How much ah?"

As for the quality, machine stitched wallets give way much earlier.

big cut from the sale of mass produced luxury goods goes to marketing and maintaining boutiques anyway.
how much actually goes into the tangible good in your hands other than perceived prestige

for craftsmen, 'workmanship' is their brand.
once they cut corners, that's it for them

You probably get my point, by paying for a custom wallet, you know that everything goes to the crafter for his time, materials and worksmanship. When I was a few years younger, I would have gone for branded but now. Custom is the way to go because everybody can afford a branded wallet at certain point in time but having one that is unique to you? That is something money can't buy.

But custom brands like hundred nine graydays, corter and faler do not have black colour or can hold 8 cards wallets.

Why not? It's a matter of getting the materials only. 8 cards can be done, just a taller wallet that's all. I assume you have not even contacted some of those makers? Corter doesn't really do custom now actually. If you search instagram, there's plenty of options around.

they should have no issues doing 8-card or anything if it the design and material are within their expertise.

but you have to accept their price and a longer wait if they need to procure the specific leather you want which they don't have at the moment.
like buying snake/lizard/stingray skin for overlays for your design when they typically deal with cowhides.

buying low quantities of material with fast shipping so that they could start making it asap for a 1-time project is never economical btw.
you can expect this cost to be reflected on top of the price of your 'custom' design.

those that can do customs, will ask you to contact them directly.
some that don't do customs, will just continue to sell their own designs exclusively
