Well alot of swiss watch brands are using highly modified eta movts and then made it their own

But....how it really works... not sure

Good day to you knightcover, I don't understand the meaning of "gian" but I get the idea. Just letting you know that the cyclops is removable.

If you like Squale's iteration then I say go for it! I've seen people wearing Squale before and it's a notable wear.

Gian= tempted in Hokkien.

Having to send my watch back less than a day of wearing it leaves somewhat a bad taste...but if i do get another Steinhart i be sure to check the bezel throughoutly.

Squale pepsi is oos for now, otherwise would have hoot it.

Bet some of you guys didnt know Seiko has lume on their bezel as well

this for le then got. the bezel the lettering all fuzzy fuzzy. doesnt feel high quality imo. i think the older tunas still look better.

Actually I prefer the newer ones because of the discreet date and the lume now is symmetrical. Individual preference I guess.

Sorry to hear that you had a somewhat bad experience...

In fact this can happen with any watch brand, even high end watches like PP, AP rolex etc even if the chances is a slim 2-5%
that's why need warranty

Do check out Christopher Ward... CW and steinhart are two of the most popular homage watch brands

Well, technically NOMOS is based on Peseux.. But they make it their own by making a number of modifications.

Probably due to the fact that t1 and st5 are modelled after eta movements. But not sure why they are not adopting St1 and st5 for description... maybe they still have some old steinhart watches on eta 2824-2 movts

But It's known that St1 is a highly modified eta 6479 movt and iirc it's stated in Steinhart website as well.

As for st5, the entire movt, in terms of specs, is far too similar to eta 2824-2
They both have 28,800BPH and 25 jewels, hack, have a quickset date function and are 11 1/2'' in diameter. It appears to be very similar from what I have seen in regards to shape too, the only discernible difference is the finishing and decorations.

From what i read up on the ST5, it is pretty much an ETA 2824-2 clone that consists of swiss made parts and assembled for steinhart. This is to reduce steinhart's dependency on ETA movements.

It cannot be considered as in house as the movement and parts are not made in-house by steinhart but rather with the help of their Swiss partners.

I think the current watches are mainly still using ETA movements. There was a period of time the ocean one vintage was using ST5 movements but now listed as ETA 2824-2. Maybe there was some issues with the ST5 movements...

In any case, its good to see that they are at least trying to grow as a brand!

A few of my friends who bought it had issues with the movt and had to send it back to RSC for operation
