Poor man. Cant afford holiday to see northern lights....so just buy a watch with same name.

Seeing u guys discussing abt rich students, i jus cant understand how driving uber on wkends can justify as earning their own money. If their rich parents dont buy them cars in the first plce, how do they do uber? N if by having rolex or tudor or iwc as a student doent indicate having rich parents, i really like to know how they have the money to buy those watches.

Cos ive been working for half my life, yet i still cant bear to part with that huge sum of money without thinking if i could jus save it for better use.

It's possible as different people have different temperaments. :)

Yeah that i understand. Mayb for me i rather spend on holidays, but others wil spend on hobbies. But for a student to do that, i jus hv a feeling that it really is not their money. Cos once u start to really work n earn ur own money, ur thinking will b different. At age ard 20 n owns 3-4 luxury watches, must b either rich parents or doing own business, which also can translate to ruch parents who fork out the capital.

To be fair, I know a student that earn more than 4k a month from giving tuition alone. He is from average family and spend all his money on branded goods and travel. The main point is really about been humble and thick skin a bit. Its the internet. Why so serious? ;)

Btw heard Romain Jerome is making a Pikachu watch :s13:

Same here, rather spend on holiday overseas than luxury goods. If can have both, that will be the best!

With 2 kids, child care $$$ can easily buy a PP a year!

I have to agreed on your point on the uber driver.. Driving daddy car on the weekend as uber driver is definitely not my idea of making your own keep. Nothing wrong with it but to call it independent is really pure hogwash. If you have a rich daddy who buys you iwc and rolex - just admit it. Nothing to be ashamed of it. But please don't spin this bs.

To each his own on the point of buying expensive watches - i find it rewarding and satisfying to get a watch.. The same way some might get from buying a new bmw or Mercedes

It's given by your daddy - just admit it. Nothing to be ashamed of having a rich family who can afford better things. But just don't spin the story of being independent.

To be fair, there are students doing their own side business with zero start up. Slowly work their way up but mostly will pay for school fees.
Haha unless parents paying school fees.

My parents paid for my school fees first. I paid them back when I started working... Counted as paying for my school fees myself?

Yar, some people will save and save, whereas some people are ok to buy the things they like.

As long as you've saved enough to live the way you want to live next time, I guess it's your own prerogative. :)

Yeah lor. Thats y i don get it y they jus like to say that the money is their hard earned savings. As long as u don work, u don hv earnings. Jus admit rich parents buy. If i hv rich parents, i sure wont b ashamed to admit. Jus like how im not ashamed to admit that my parents (n myself of cos) r not rich.
