I really wished it's Daytona but the stubborn me refused to pay the current premium. Played around with a few Zenith El Primeros (I really love Zenith watches, was very very close in getting the Cohiba), Explorer II but I know this is the one for me.... Been hunting for it and it's out of stock in a number of ADs, with a stroke of luck, found one piece... Very happy with my new toy...and of course, guarding it is my son's Rescue team LOL

i've been to a few other ADs and boutiques prior to this purchase. I'm delighted at the services rendered by JLC Boutique @ ION, WOS @ Paragon and THG @ Millenia. Neither one rush us secure the purchase, they willingly and patiently explain the watches. Coming from a customer service industry myself, I do not normally 'squeeze' for freebies, I had my fair share of attending to 'difficult' customers in the past so I know how it feels. However, there were definitely some who gave me the stare, look at me up and down ..I mean like, wth... maybe they think this Mat is going to waste my time lol..not as if I entered their shop in berms or slippers..but there are these bad apples.

For all of my big purchases, I always involved my better half, it is something that we hold on to to close our hearts (I bought my first seamaster with her in 2008 during BGF time)..

and of course it helps when we got her two watches from WOS.

so... how's your full AD experience?

was it very transactional: ask "how much discount?". price meets your what you've already in mind after tons of research & price checks. lay down your cc, have it sized and walk off.

or did they extend the full luxe manja treatment?

any free gifts, swag or freebies? any discount?

most importantly: did you have to bribe the wife with an hermes/dior handbag or some other female toy to avoid the nagging?

I have a problem - my wife is simple - does not go for fashion and stuff. How to buy my stuff this way?

I have to 'sneak'/hide my purchases for a while till it gets discovered and then tell her that these are not expensive watches.

Looks like I have to simplify - keep as few watches as possible, and maybe buy a FINAL* watch down the road.

Why don't wanna go grey? Why pay more for AD?
