Intiially intended to get a brand new piece for my bf but not sure if it's worth the huge price difference... Any advices?

Swiss vs Japanese. Swiss will cost more. Many will still choose Swiss! I will choose the Seiko SLA017.

Just like I chose Japanese car over Continental car (actually is I got no money)

手表品牌和款式太多了，太难选择了。况且玩表不是便宜的爱好，尤其名牌都昂贵都上万元的，一失买错足成千古恨。

Yea.. For me i like oris but for half the price tag i rather get seiko. Oris is almost pushing to $3k.

花上万买表，我買工艺，不買品牌。
就如拿250000買車，我宁愿買铁笼子富豪，总好过过度广告的lexus。

3k ?? .... its becos Singapore expensive lah .. this one brand new about 2k can get liao .. also oris 65 (old numeral version) bracelet about 1.6k can get liao .. but after trying in sg.. felt too small .. of course all above prices is for brand new with in'tl warranty. some watches cannot buy here one

if you surf ang mo grey seller .. oris prices start from 300+ usd only ... e.g. classic date

Thanks for the reply. Any other recommendations for a starter watch for my usage and collection? Budget prob around 300-400. Am just starting out and learning about watches.

Diver : Orient Mako, Seiko Orange Monster.
Dress : Orient Bambino Gen 2, Seiko SARB 33/35

The Seiko will be higher price.

Other possible brands to look at; Swatch Irony Sistem 51, Hamilton, Citizen and Casio.

Yeah I've seen it in real life too. I thought I couldn't tell the hour markers clearly. If only they simply made it in black, then I'd have a much tougher choice... haha

Its a 41 mm =). I started my watch journey getting a watch that is too small. That is one of my earlier mistake, haha. I always wanted a Seamaster .
