TLDR version, consolidate 3 watches into one. Learnt that you cannot get another watch as a substitute for the one you really really want...

So i finally bit the bullet and did some watch consolidation to get the watch that i have been lusting after all these years - the sub c 114060 no date.

Traded in 3 watches ( Rolex airking, Tag Heuer Aquaracer and Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra quartz) at one of the second hand watch shop at city plaza for a total of 5.5k.

Topped up 2.8k for the subc ( 2015 year with card only no box, still under warranty) the tag and the omega trade in value was bad but still since i dont wear these watches anymore its better to let them go.

Thinking back in mid 2014 when i was first got into watches, should have just gotten the sub. The irony is i didnt want to spend so much money on a watch with the notion that the sub was too common.. in the end after going one huge circle, the amount spent on watches far exceeded what i what have incurred if i had just gone for the sub in the first place.

Bought and sold tudor blackbay 3 times thinking they could be a substitute for the sub but while initially the sub lust was quelled, eventually after sometime it surfaced again.
somehow that didnt work out cos i found the bracelet not as comfortable as the subs and the watch was heavier. ( They are great watches no doubt just that it couldnt suppress the sub lust)

All of the watches below now sold.

Grand Seiko Spring drive SBGA095 - Tudor black bay blue ( Rose logo)- Tudor black bay Noir ( Rose logo)- Tudor North flag- Rolex Explorer 214270- Tudor black bay noir ( rose logo again) -Omega Seamaster aqua terra Quartz, tag heuer Aquaracer , Rolex airking 114200

One huge circle and so much money gone that could have been saved. But I finally got the grail that i really wanted all these time so yeah guess its worth it like after so much effort spent to get it. Will stay away from watches for a while.

I want to be one. But I think 2 or 3 is most balanced. One dress and one tool. Extra can be a spare of either for variety

I think you are right. A few times i had more than 3 and one will be neglected. 2 slightly more expensive watches (1 dress & 1 sport) and maybe one tool/beater will be perfect.

Congratulations! Quite a journey you have experienced, it may have taken longer, but the destination is worth it, and there's joy to be had from the learning experience.

I learnt this theory of getting what you really want last time from photography forums, lol.

I actually learnt my lesson from audio hobby; had a couple of DAPs and IEMs, headphones, then eventually realised that I only ever need and enjoyed my current setup and sold the rest.

Just leave it. It's a watch. Meant to be worn. You may want to polish it only when you send in for servicing years later.

Thanks bro. So recommended for this type of mechanical watch is to send in for servicing like after 5years or longer?

I have other cheaper watches cost less than $500 where can i go for polishing? Is it only the K2 shop u guys alway mention the mr goh? Any shops around chinatown area that do polishing watches?

Grats on the sub

I'm the opposite, got the sub, didnt like it enough to keep it and trade for Black Bay to pair with my Pelagos.

Content for now..

I have 7.. Gave up trying to give them equal attention it's impossible. 2 rotate for weekday, 5 rotate for weekends (incl Friday)

For me, I would get the 36mm datejust. If you want it dressy. Change to diamond markers and jubilee bracelet.

The two tone sub is also nice but your Tudor design is already similar.

I'm surprised you are this careless. Just leave it and be more carful next time.

Sorry sir, maybe i got frustrated with life at times and might have unintentionally banged it causing sone scratches. Will try to control my emotions in future.

Thinking should i sell away tudor and save up for the 2 tone blue sub. Wat u think?

36mm datejust too small imo.
