All I can say is that in a REAL rich world, watch is peanuts.

REAL money talks... property, companies, brands.. And people with REAL substance don't see a need to flex.

Let's just put it this way, if BigStick challenge Li Ka Shing to watch collection showdown. Li Ka Shing will fart on his Pateks and walk away wearing his Citizen kthxbai.

At the end of the day, sure, I may be poor compared to BigStick. Doesn't mean BigStick is rich, lawl.

But I agree that Rolex *is* boring la. Nothing wrong with that. All watches are boring after a while to me... That's why I keep buying and selling half the number of my collection to try and play.

I'm probably biased, but 6006 if you want a dress watch, 5212 if you happen to like comic sans alot.

The grey price for the 5170G is a significant discount from the RRP, and I'm sure there are quite a few 5170s in ADs. Well, if the price is right, I don't mind getting pre-owned.

You are right, though there is no need for disappointment. To be honest, one can only look at Patek and Rolex if resale is a consideration. But to limit to these two brands only would be boring indeed.
