lol most people want the AD experience that's why grey prices still not very strong yet.

if demand goes higher than grey will go up as well.
experience meh? not purchase history and then flip to grey, take loss of 2 to 2.5k sgd

not everyone is a flipper. got many different types of buyers.
then why pay 2k more to AD when grey is cheaper? don't make sense.
definitely to clock spending.
people who pay full RRP for tudor is just ..... noob (if they're not looking to clock spending)

Rolex doesn't dictate the inflated market price point. That's just hype that may go up or down.

Tudor was created as a budget alternative to Rolex to capture the lower pricepoint market. It has no brand heritage except to be a budget alternative. As a collector myself that's my problem with Tudor, I won't put a "budget alternative to a Rolex" on my wrist instead of a Rolex while I can afford it. To people who see watches as just the material and do not care for the brand story, yes Tudors have that appeal.

Which is quite ironic because you claim to be a horology connoisseur but you don't care about brand story, seemingly only decoration and material.

Unfortunately Rolex can't help it that people wear Rolex to flex. Like we've said, just because YP wear PP and AP to flex, does that mean those brands aren't worth their salt anymore?

Tudor supplied watches to multiple militaries

They have models like ranger, submariner, monte carlo, prince oysterdate, tiger chronograph and p01(based off a prototype)

They are the same as Rolex minus the movements.

in fact most of their older models still going for less than a modern rolex.

They do not rely on artificial price control to achieve a market value

note that im not disrespecting the group companies entirely but anyone worth a single cent in horology collecting should be able to discern value

the fact that tudor is priced very little compared to rolex is proof that marketing create wonders and artificial perception

Rolex is the best watch to buy because it's can be easily prawned and still can get back a good price.

But then Rolex watch is never an investment because of rate of inflation.
In terms of investment, rolex, AP and PP is the best but like all investments, the prices are artificially driven and can crash anytime

in terms of carrothead rolex you dont get much
The quality not too different from what both omega and tudor can churn out

rolex still not making spectacular stuff or making exceptional cellini watches

25k for a rolex vs 25k for an AP, end of the day you get very different product.

If i have 30k to 40k and randomly go into watch shop for my first watch, i would pick a rolex over other brands(i cannot fault you) comfort zone

sometimes we get so fixated in brands that we forget to consider hand made or exquisite watch movements, hand made watches, hand made watch complications, non massed produced movement beauty (you could consider preowned if you baulk at losing money)

A pepsi may be worth well over 25k
But horologically its horological worth probably 12k

if you go into watchmaking with hypebeast mindset end of the day you can look at your watches and consider what kind of value you are really getting

Not that rolex is bad. i would take a pelagos and lange anyday over a budget for a daytona.

a lange to me is true luxury, able to admire and sleep w
happily knowing that it took hours and hours to build the watch which is still better than paying toolwatch luxury at same pricepoint

a pelagos because it is part of rolex, it shares the toolwatch luxury watchmaking heritage and is everything better than a submariner

end of the day, if you want a rolex, you can simply automate it out if no humans left on this world

if you want a lange watch or something similar, you need to train a watchmaker, rely on handmade pieces, you cannot use a robot at all.

the lange watch builder will need factor in his life. He uses his own lifeblood(time) to exchange for your lange watch, which makes it so precious.

he spent half his life beforehand training how to build your timepiece

As usual, same kind of logic like burning 7th month nonsense. For a "fine watch connoisseur", your mind is so simplistic that I cannot help but think that you are just a frog in the well croaking loudly to yourself. This will be the last time I bother responding to you. It's like talking to my cat, who is infinitely cuter and definitely clearer on what she wants out of life.

Cheers.

Bored as he's just a broken recorder repeating the same few lines, just want to point out how flawed the logic is that pelagos shares the same luxury toolwatch heritage and is the same quality as submariner just because it is also a Hans Wilsdorf brand.

You might as well say Swatch has the best value as it is a Swatch Group brand just like Omega, G.O, Breguet, Blancpain, etc.
tudor brand name is owned by hans wilsdorf foundation.
Its just a trading name just like a rolex

pelagos is also a rolex group company watch, in fact higher quality than rolex. Deal with it.

swatch is a plastic watch.

for what a pelagos is, it can outdo anything sold by rolex including a deepsea

Gotta agree I take lange over a rolex any day. That's of course if your day to day clothes allow it.

Rolex watches are also hand made by workmanship like AP, PP, correct ?

Depends on your definition of handmade. Rolex doesn't share publicly its entire process, but at one million watches a year, it's likely that several steps are completed by machine.

It's reported that the movement is handmade, and the final assembly of the watch is by hand.
