Wow....it has been some time since someone inquiried on this model.

Longines is now rather strict RP$1,830 at 15% discount only now across SG instead of usual 20%. The only way is to get from airport departure terminals or cheaper through online if u're comfortable.

It is excellent diver watch launched somewhere since Yr2007 and either colour is fine. Mine is black.

Thanks javincho , i managed to find the black colour one after some time.
Most shops are out of stock for black colour, discount is same % but managed to get free gift. :s13:

Yam u work in the far east right? Wat u stardeeing?

i don't work at far east. I don't really get your question on where i am working.

Yes, i am studying part-time and working full time. With various other priorities, i would have to weigh the pros and cons.

I was initially thinking i could get a seiko monster snp313 to get hold of a rugged feeling.

Then tissot visodate as my graduation piece, something for office as well.

Slowly, stowa flieger, as something fanciful, however, not so soon.

..I on other hand, find most of the reversos and and master control JLCs appealing, even the entry level ones.

I must be old.
Yeah, been rather drawn to the Master Control lately. The Master Reserve De Marche and Hometime is pretty appealing too. Good choice!

any idea how much is an entry level JLC reverso for guys? that time i went with a fren to see see look look, the prices quoted were all in the range of 14k and above leh. i am actually interested in those reverso that have day and night faces, not those that flip over see the casing oni.

Day nite new is about there after discount I believe. I am the proud owner of the day nite reverso. note it's an older movement the accuracy is tune to under 15 secs

I am new to watches, buying a brand new Rolex is kind of too over priced for me, but I am contemplating to get a 2nd hand one.

Any advise on $5000 is it enough to purchase a 2nd hand Rolex and any recommendation on where to get it?

Thanks.

chris has his own views on watches, as with anyone else.
to me, its your money, u buy what u think its worth, and of cos within your own means.

between milgauss and explorer, i go with the explorer.
JLC reverso with ostrich strap very swee too, but i think it will be nicer on a woman's wrist. im considering getting one for my wifey.

most impt is that u like it and wear it. :)
Yes... to each his own. Watch is a rather personal thing. One man's meat may be another man's poison.

AP is releasing limited edition like water flowing in the pacific ocean. Cheapens the brande totally. Not called king of limited edition for nothing!

It's true that there are several LE released, perhaps one too many. But I won't say the brand is cheapened.

The true value of a watch lies not in the boutique price tag or discounted price, but really it's in the resale market price. How much ppl are willing to pay for ur piece.

Look at how prices that AP pre owned are commanding. May not retain value as well as rolex or PP, but certainly not "cheapened"

Hamilton Jazzmaster Maestro Auto Chrono

I've been looking at the Hamilton Jazzmaster Maestro Auto Chrono 41mm (H32576515) for a while now and I've gotten a consistent quote of $1.9K from the 3 watch shops I've visited (WoS, Vincent Watch & something else). It's a nice watch but was wondering if it can be had for cheaper? Any shops to recommend?

I've also been looking at Amazon and it costs USD1,140 which shouldn't be more than $1.6K after shipping and taxes. These are sold by other shops and fulfilled by Amazon; anybody have any experience buying from these shops in Amazon before? Also, they mentioned that as their prices are lower than List Price, their watches do not have AD warranty but they will honor any warranty claim themselves based on the same duration.

yes older than 10yrs old. I will send the watch into Rolex house to get it service.
Most ppl don't service and U don't know the history. it is recommended by Rolex to get it service once every 5yrs anyway.

Less popular model like Air King and maybe older explorer II can find with 5k
