And really, dont buy a watch for perceived second hand value. Buy what you like and what you will wear. Or just go straight for the brand (like me, the brand *****).
The second-hand value thing is still a mystery to me. It's like a pre-nuptial agreement: thinking that way at the outset is guaranteeing a divorce.
Being a brand ***** is more understandable. But you can overcome it with enough will-power. I have done it for watches; I honestly love my UTS more than any other watch I have, ETA movement and all. I'm trying to overcome it with cars, but that is turning out to be a lot more difficult....
