If I can't afford a PP Nautilus, I'll rather not buy a fake/homage. This is a blatant design ripoff. I think I'll be happier with a genuine cheepy Tissot!

qns for KohChris, any idea where i can swop out my tag aquaracer (wan2110) bracelet to a rubber strap or something similar? Best if it is also curved end.

can go the new lvmh service center at ngee ann city to buy the rubber strap..

but the aquaracer looks best with metal bracelet la, just like how the sub looks best with metal bracelet...imo

maybe he's a troll. don't bother. i read his pseudo self-pity posts until i just skip it. if its a reality for him, i just pity him because self confidence etc, is not from the material possessions that one has (which can be proven with some self obsessed posters in this thread. base on the day-to-day postings i've read since early this year).

if he's just faking/exaggerating his sorry state, then i would also not bother him, cause its just a troll looking for attention. he gets a kick out of playing that "im so pitiful, not like u all" role.. whilst in reality he probably thinks we are fools spending a few hundred to thousands on a mechanical watch that a $50 quartz could beat in terms of accuracy. and it is this hidden thought of his is what gives him the kick that "i am better than y'all"

Not everyone can own a nautilus in their lifetime....maybe a rolex sub if they work hard and the rolex sub is within the so-called "logical price range" for a luxury watch

to get a nautilus, esp for an average income singaporean, represents a serious commitment to horology and watch appreciation imo...and its somewhat a crazy amount to spend...beyond the logical price range for a luxury watch

i would get this...from far looks like a patek can already

All those others I really bought for looks. The maurice lacroix skeleton, corum bubble skeleton and I actually have one swatch irony skeleton and a swatch open works quartz. That was my starting pt - wanted to collect skeletons.

Azimuth collection started with the roboto. Then roulette. Then BIT. And the national day Ltd Ed. Really liked how they were conversation pieces. Honestly azimuth's arent THAT expensive. A BIT is just over 2k. And it's REALLY a good conversation piece - always use it to challenge ppl how to read the time.

Even for the rolex, omega we have..... Really for looks. Never bought a watch with the intention to sell them since I'm not a trader. Honestly I also dunno how many ppl actually buy watches for investments - unless its an antique piece.

Hence always my two cents to people wanting to buy their first watch - just go for what u like and what looks good on you. It makes you a lot happier

anyway, to speak my mind, i feel that azimuth is abit off from normal watches, cause i had the chance to handle and own 1 BIT before selling it away...i felt that their watches did not have the kind of quality i was looking for...

Finally got my first Zenith! The Pilot Big Date - not everyone's favourite and one with not-so-good resale value. But hey its a Zenith, its powered by El Primero, the arabic numerals look great, the strap's authentically 'used', great vintage look, not a common brand ..... what's not to enjoy?

Nice mix of brushed and polished steel. Uncommon pusher design

And the beautifully decorated venerable El Primero

If u r looking for nice and simple watches, shouldnt be looking at breitling
Their watches are heavy, thick, big cases and flashy designs in general.

I have 1 superocean and loving it. Comparing to my Exp 2, it is thick, heavy, 44mm and design not flashy.... Always wear this watch with my casual jean and t-shirt but not with my office wear. Bought it at about 4k.

Now looking for another watch as companion to super avenger.
Maybe ap roc or vc overseas chrono.
But also considering iwc 3777 or 3878.

I think 2 watches is enough for me

Hi fellows, saw a watch today that caught my interest. Unfortunately it was on another chap's wrist & I couldn't figure out what model it is. The design style resembles this:

But the most distinct feature was that the crown is not at the usual spot, i.e. based on the fact that the chap is standing opposite me, & his wrist is down, I'll say the crown is situated around 10 o'clock. The dial is very clean, except for maybe a power reserve, or a semi-circle 'line' on the face. That's all. Not a chronograph. Watch face should be 40mm thereabouts. Any body has any idea?

if u buy wear and appreciate.. no problem.. just pass it on to your next gen.

depreciation is like at least 30-40% once its on your wrist.

worst then a car..

This is the beauty of items like timepieces, it's not just the item itself but the also the significance behind some of them. Whether it's an heirloom or bought in commemoration of an event, or just to pamper oneself, I'm sure most of us have a story behind at least one time piece.
