But if anyone is planning to buy a house using bank loan within the 40 month period, please do not use this THG 40 month 0% interest.
The amount of $ the bank can lend you for housing will be significantly reduced

TDSR will be affected.

AP will always outperform Rolex in terms of brand.

Go for a ROO instead of a RO. I personally feel it offers more bang for the buck.

That applies only to watch guys like us. Most common people will take rolex over AP and rightfully so because rolex's resale value still tops any brand.

By just the 'RO', which model are you referring to actually? The extra thin or self-winding one?

Either, although I prefer the dial aesthetics of the extra thin but the thickness of the self-winding. :D

Do you particularly like the day date RO?

I asked about what does he already have in his collection earlier. To me, that matters. My 2 cents is that neither quite fit into my 1st luxury watch category. Would go for the stainless steel black sub or AP RO date (preferably ultra thin jumbo). While common, they are classics to start off.

If this is going to be one of many others u already own, then go for the one that appeals to u best. Both are respectable and nothing outrightly bad to criticise of. Again, to emphasize, just me n my 2 cts

if someone have a 50k CC limit. Dun think they will feel pain.
Cos probably the 50k is just half the amount they get for the year end bonus only.

I heard that if you earn more then 10k monthly some banks are willing to give you x10 credit limit, is it true ?

If it's between the stainless steel black sub or gmt and the AP, I'll go for the AP RO. But the two tone has appealed to me since I first set my eyes on it.

My current collection? A very humble Poljot chronograph for my 21st birthday which I'm wearing as a daily beater for the past 5 years. Another watch is my trusty Casio fx91 from BMT which still works fine. I'll probably keep on wearing the Poljot until I buy my dream watch by 40 or earlier if possible. Or I may get like an Orient watch.

My friend recently got a 'free' Pepsi cause he didn't know his father left it unused in the cupboard.

Go for what appeals most to u. End of the day u are the owner and it's going to be on ur wrist. Pepsi fr dad sounds interesting. Vintage gmts can look v good, espec matt dials w nice patina

Anyway... this 40mth marketing gimmick only applies to people who can afford to use one credit card just to buy the watch.

I am into vintage

Yea, whatever rocks my boat I guess. Poison to others may be meat for me. Won't walk into AD till I have enough cash because the moment I try and if it suits me, there's no turning back.

There was a post that mentioned the current sovil are not as good as they used to be.

Don't be fooled by the no of jewels. They are synthetic gems there for the metal joints and stuff. Some manufacturers put in more than necessary just to boast they have more.

Read an article about it somewhere on the web......

Seiko watches try mustafa, bras basah, bencoolen and people's park. Some of these are direct imports not thru the singapore agent, no local warranty but may be nice models not otherwise available locally.

Would encourage u to buy early (within ur means of cos) if u know what u want as the prices of luxury brand watches just keep getting adjusted upwards about 5% each year. Furthermore, some models may be discontinued or modified, not necessarily for the better sometimes.

For me, was glad i got my sub just before they introduced the engraved "rolex" rehaut (inner ring of the dial) and certainly before they introduced the ceramic bezel with the disproptionate lugs (personal dislike of the new gen rolex sports models)

My dad has a Casio gold colour SS quartz movement watch from the 1990 or 1991.

I own a g shock which my dad brought for me in 1996.
I think not really vintage but old school liao...

Very nice. Had an early gen gshock too during school days.. Some years down, did the stupid thing of removing the rubber cover n wearing it as a metal piece with rubber straps.
