Can you list specifically the model no. for a seiko or Orient auto watch that is suitable for my budget?($400)

I have been cracking my brains past few days to choose the watch for him....:s22::s22::s22:

Thanks...:s12::s12::s12:

Best to go down to shop look, see, feel, compare n buy. Try bencoolen, mustafa, bras basah. Online try sky watches and creation watches.

Search this thread for Snzh, world time etc. Automatic watch dun need battery replacement. However u need to wear most of the time to wind it up. Some automatic mechanical watch got clear case back for u to see the nice movements inside.

As per title? so why do u all get a mechanical watch over a quartz watch?Isn't it more hazzle to adjust the time>?

history of watch-making
the watch is somehow alive!
powered by human movements or actions.
cool factor
expensive aka satki
knowing many parts are made and fitted perfectly to make the watch work
live movable parts
the sweeping second hands
..... and so on.

quartz is just boring lol

Actually if u wear it every day don't have to keep adjusting. Only check once in awhile to see the time is accurate.shouldnt be too far off. Most of us here own more than one automatic and we swap watches throughout the week sometimes that's why some of them stop moving hence need to adjust again. :)

In all actuality, most people prefer quartz. I also believe that most watch collectors prefer mechanical. The reason is the aesthetic value and romanticism of knowing that many small man made parts all work together to accurately run and keep the time.

At the end of the day, probably only collectors and enthusiasts prefer mechanical. In terms of practicality and reliability, a cheap quartz far outstrips any expensive mechanical watch.

The typical man on the street wouldn't care less about the movement, and would rather prefer that his watch keep good time even when he's not wearing it. Mechanical watches require a certain degree of care and coddling that not all may be willing to give.

check with your wife first... i bought the 176 for my wife, then she complain too heavy for her wrist and cannot drive properly because she usually uses left hand for steering. :s22:

then she tried on a white gold daytona and say that it is very nice, perfect for her wrist. i was like, the white gold daytona is 3 times heavier than a 176 but you don't mind the weight?? :s11:

and what was a reply?

need to include a Seiko Monster in the list too. IMHO its one of the few design that really look cool and sporty.

Sinn U1

I have a Sinn U1 about 3-4 years old and I realise that it will move 3 to 5 minutes faster in about a week and I never ever bring the watch down to THG for maintenance.

Is there a must to do periodic maintenance so that the time will be accurate? Any idea how much it will cost to re-calibrate the accuracy at THG?

This is the inside of watch when u open up?Certainty the first picture on the left.

But do u guys often open the watches up and see???

Sorry I am more a less sophistical and practical person..a watch for me/him is just to tell time accurately. Later he late for anything, blame me on the watch!!!:s22::s22::s22:

I think you are already have your answer as to buy a mechanical or quartz. As suggested earlier, pick a nice one that fits him as you see him and he'll be happy. ;)

Den a g shock will do. I will never endorse fashion watch. I buy watch from watch companies that make watch.
