But do u guys often open the watches up and see???

Sorry I am more a less sophistical and practical person..a watch for me/him is just to tell time accurately. Later he late for anything, blame me on the watch!!!

What kinda watch yr bf need? Dressy or sporty? It is much easier for quartz watches... just walk in to different watch shops that carries various brands and take the one that really speaks to you or your bf. If it is not going to be a surprise, it is alws advisable to go try on the watch. HTH.

It is simple. Just that the more you know the more complicated it becomes.

Seiko skx007 is nice.

So is the seiko white mini monster. Not really mini actually.

Dressy wise you cant go wrong with an orient bambino in white and RG. ~$160 on creationwatches website, and change to a $12 brown strap from K2.

I personally like this : the seiko srp127 worldtime

Go read on the price appreciation... dont need buy house, should have bought a daytona instead.

With $400, you can actually buy decent mechanical watches. There have been many excellent suggestions so far already.

And please, if my girlfriend bought me a watch, I would never "blame" her if I was late because I forgot to wind my watch. I would look at the watch everyday and feel very blessed that she spent her time, effort and money to buy me something.

My advice is to get a hybrid..best of both worlds
