Definitely true!NATOs are self-service, no need any sort of tools one.
Although springbar tools will help, to quote Mr Goh of K2, it is "kungfu" that is most important.
Just a baking cakes lor, it's juz flour, eggs, sugar and an oven. But different skill level will give different results.
There are $4 springbar tools from eBay to the $20+ Bergeon ones. Mr Goh juz use a small screwdriver.
Your mileage may vary.![]()
Nice, despite the riot of colors..it still looks manly!
It's called a spring bar tool. If I'm not wrong one size fits all and prices also ranges. Not sure about which is the best though![]()
if you have carousell (android/ios app), look for this guy called elefie. i got my spring bar tool from him at around $5 excluding mailing costs. it comes with a few spring bars. be sure to measure the lug width![]()
A generic $15-20 apring bar tool is all it takes for most watches.
There are different sized forks although smaller sized forks can be used on larger spring bars but not the other way round.
I bought the cheap spring bar tool and it works fine, but after using a quality tool such a Bergeon, you appreciate why they are more expensive. I feel it's worth the price difference if you use it often.
I have 2 tools depending on which watch/strap I'm handling. I could do with one (the normal one) but the dual fork tool allows me to avoid scratches on certain watches that have very small spring bar openings.
