Why wanna hoot rep? Just curious

hmmm...actually I think its more 'fun', if I get an off the shelf perfect looking product, I'll be satisfied, but not happy...when I dissect my watches to modify it and transplant gen parts into it, its like, it belongs innately to me, its my brainchild. You get what I mean? Also, I think observing and scrutinising the details and differences to gen watches brings joy to me.

well... Modded versions of gen watches are fine... Homage are fine... Replicas, honestly, its a complete disrespect to those watch manufacturers who spend many hundreds of work hours assembling these works of arts.

Its a form of Murder.

dont get me started on this...if the luxury watch makers use in-house movement there wouldn't be reps. If you look at the rep market, those in house movement watches (new IWC lineup 3880 etc, Zenith 36k, portugese, some high end tags, bathyscape) These can't be replicated. Its only when the companies use the common movements like 7750, 2813, 6497 then they will get repped. Just like Tag's use of seiko 7750 movement in their watches.

replica is replica. be it cheap knock offs or top grade replicas.

and dude.. no need to find a reason for Replica like "a fake rolex is not really a replica, because it is not using Rolex in-house movements"...

Just to point out that Vijay has suspended an account on the tailor thread so the mods do watch (pardon the pun) over the threads here.

If discussion of reps are indeed infringement of the forum rules, then we should not venture in that area. Although I must say I enjoy those educational discussions.

I'm not justifying the purchase of replicas. I'm not here to advocate people here to switch to reps anyway, dont get me wrong. I'm just here to share my knowledge, gen and otherwise, not happy then just ignore my posts lor...

dude, sharing of knowledge about "how to distinguish Reps and Gens" is always welcome... because everyone here is constantly learning and I learnt something about reps today.

I never say you are supporting to buy reps... *face palm*... I am saying please don't find reasons to defend replicas. Its distasteful :vijayadmin:

just a side note: anything can be copied. its just a matter of whether is it worth while to copy right down to the last detail.
