aigner or dkny any good ?

Those are more of a fashion watch. Buy solely based on looks. For serious watch buyers, i think they will keep their money away from those. Minimum they will buy are jap watch maker brands like seiko, orient, citizen. I can still accept casio though. They are still considered watch makers for quartz powered time pieces,

Last night in HK. Will be back in sunny sg tmr.

Crazy fog on Lantau big buddha.....9deg C with wind. Bloody waste of money for a round trip on the crystal cable car.

Couldnt decide on a fried chicken leg or roast duck leg......is it too much to ask for both? ;)

Steel and Steel.

Spent my weekend at work... (cannot complain anyway since I did not work on Friday, and can only fault myself for "wasting" that free day)

I think a few days ago there was a Panerai discussion, on two theories why we think there is a Panerai boom:

A) Is it cause the watch is really popular

B) Is it cause the watch is really distinctive

My money now is on the second theory. Was out having lunch with the boss and his circle of friends, then saw a guy park his Audi (cause I still observe car first), walk out with his GF and there on his wrist was a... Luminor.

Yes, the watch is so distinct that it can be spotted metres away, and we always remember the most distinct things we see, then it ends up supporting that first theory.

My two cents worth.

17 yr old only cares about brand that's ok.
They are fashion brands not into watch making.

Companies like seiko, orient and citizen are into watch making.
If aigner carries a jap movement it will be from citizen miyota

U can try

That's probably because many Singaporeans can't get over the fact it uses an eta movement.

Black bay use the same movement but it's much more popular. I think pelagos less popular cos not many like titanium

It is the look. Like i have mentioned before, no bling bling. Too low profile. People tend to want to get noticed. With the pelagos, u get none. It is a very successful tool watch design because it hardly gets noticed. Even the tudor brand is not well known to people who are not into watches.

I feel most people generally only knows rolex and tag heuer.

For budget hundreds type u can get invicta or nautica watches but seriously buying watch can be addicted.
I have collected abt 10 luxury watches & bit of few hundred dollars valued variety of watches since early 20s. Bought for viewing at home & most are still very new.

Went shopping over the weekend, and wifey and me got a couple watch! Reviving the pam poison. :s13:

312 and 392? You beat me to a couple watch hee hee.

Anyway saw the 422 in the flesh the 1st time just now at Wisma Atria Sincere (I think it was). Also saw this probably Indo young dad with his family crouching on floor taking out his 372 which he probably bought from the boutique. My wife whispered to me "eh bee (short form for hubby)....see that guy 忍 不 主 just bought a Panerai" :D

Have to say I think the 47mm Pams have a presence that just screams Panerai. I'm still on the fence whether to make the couple watch with a 47mm Pam or heck it and wait for the next watch bug to bite. .VC Overseas anyone? hee. Too poor now for that anyway.
