guys. need some advice again. as you all know, end of year i planning to hoot a subC for my birthday.

rolex is always my favourite but i also fancy panerai, especially 024 and 386. so now im keeping my options open

actually i like 305 also (same as 024) and as a matter of fact more inclined to 305. but in the end choose the 024 because of my 6' wrist.

and i dont seem to see 386 around. any idea?

may i know whats the price for those two? AD, boutique, grey.

8 yrs old. Could feel the rotor which should not be the case in an oyster case. According to invoice description is overhaul and change of parts. Visible parts wise the crown and gaskets were replaced.

Rolex is about boasting rights of 'never serviced throughout x years but not a problem'. 25 years is pretty impressive!

I think you have to go try them on first.. And see which one sings to you. Telling you which one speaks to you isn't enough.

I, too, went around trying Rolex and Panerai before deciding on one. generally, you can get around 15% off the RRP if you get from a grey dealer from forums..?

Depends on the brand though. From my dealer, he said Rolex margin is lesser, so sometimes, the savings might not be as much, as compared to some of the other brands.. Not sure how true it is..

But I see people selling SubC BNIB for around $10k, which is just $1.1k lesser than the RRP. I wouldn't think the savings is really "alot", compared to other brands.

No leh, I don't think it's from the Criteria range. Should be just a normal Seiko chronograph. Paid < $200 for this retro-looking piece, and am very happy. Can use this as my daily beater instead of the other watches liao.

AFAIK, Panerai does not offer any discount at their ION store. In fact, it's not easy getting discounts for Panerai.

Not sure about the 24, but if you ask about the more popular pieces like 000, 005, 111, 312 etc... the price "guides" are all over the web (for BNIB grey pieces).

Maybe 386 is phased out.
