Local watches!!!! Swee lah

I have no idea Zelos is a local watch brand when I bought it. Saw it on Massdrop, looks good, and then placed my order.

Singapore has surprisingly alot of watch brands. Currently I joined the Boldr Voyage Clever Watch kickstarter, also a Singapore brand. Met the founder by chance at my friend's wedding last month. Saw that he was wearing an Orient Bambino which I was wearing at the same time, so struck up a conversation with him.

Personally, if you want to wear something like the exercise watches like Polar, go all out and get the heart rate monitor band that you wear around your chest too. When I was in OCS, all the instructors were wearing that. Basically, what it does is to ensure that you're always maintaining a high hbps. If too low, that means you're slacking off and you should pick up the pace. I used to do HIIT on the treadmill in the gym, I use the heart rate monitors that is inbuilt into the treadmill. Not as responsive, but still better than nothing.
If im not wrong, some of those watches n even the fitness bands now can monitor heart rate also. Is it not as effective? For now im only using my phone fitness app to record my jogs. Jus starting out so don wanna spend too much.

Those will not be as effective, firstly because the wrist is not the best place to take your heart rate, and seconly, your watch or fitness band will be constantly moving about on your wrist. Even something basic like measuring the number of steps that you take, fitness bands are notoriously bad at it.

To start out cheaply, get the xiaomi mi band. I have it and it costs only $25. Does the same thing as most fitness band, and have sleep tracking and early vibration alarm. Frankly, I use the Mi Band for the sleep tracking and alarm. I was quite impressed that it is able to quite accurately tell when I've fallen asleep and when I'm awake. For the Fitbit Flex, which cost 4 times more, I have to manually tell it when I'm going to bed and when I've gotten up. The Mi band also has a battery life of about 1 month while the average battery life is about a week.

If you can wait, wait for the new mi band. It will be only slightly more ex, but will come with a heart rate monitor.

Anyways, just want to ask what do you guys think about Omega as a brand? Is it on the same brand perception level as Tag?

Personally I like Omega. It's a good mid range watch and can be worn on almost any occasion. Excellent as a daily beater.

I like it more than Tag but that's my personal preference.

If you are eyeing one I suggest the Co-axial movement as it it very accurate for a mechanical.

Price wise it used to be reasonably priced for what you get, but alas prices have shot up a lot the last few years.

Yea actually I think our lives can change a lot by improving our conscienceness. If we make up our mind to improve ourselves then we will gradually become better.

Start by exercising regularly. Once u start, in a few short weeks, you can notice that you are fitter, sleep better, look better and younger and the ball starts rolling. External appearances really matters in this world on how people perceives you.

You can even start slowly by taking regular walks after dinner. And soon enough you'll be jogging or cycling or swimming and look years younger.

Agree!!! I have not been exercising for the past year and everything has gone downhill (body shape, mood & lifestyle). I get tired easily and I can't focus properly on my work, and with my family. I have been thinking and there are no excuses as I have a treadmill at home. I just got the treadmill serviced and starting today, will exercise regularly.
