Movas is a local watch company that uses customised Seagull movements quite beautifully. Worth a 2nd look and if u can get over the "perceptions" of Chinese watch movements, definitely more affordable than their European counterparts.

Been reading reports and articles that Chinese movements are fast challenging swiss and German made movements on cut throat pricing with quality which is fast improving and able to be on par.

First time seeing customize seagull movement tourbillon.

I am really impressed by the aesthetic design of the watch.

Do give us update on the time keeping part bro lezzare! Tqia!

Even if it's on par like those miyota movement, the perception with them will not be on par with Swiss. Even seiko suffers. Russian have decent quality but due to poor marketing no demand it's kinda died.

Watchtime mag has a nice review comparing ETA and ST great read if you can get your hands on the mag.

Spending $5k on a tourbillion is reachable, iirc WUS has some mass order in the pass for under 1k. Swiss tourbillion cheapest is FC at usd$30k. Such pricing makes their tourbillion really attractive. But say ST18, not sure if many want to spend $200 on the movement and $2k on a watch. That kemmner is like usd$1k

Seiko movement sold by seiko to other watch companies unable to command high price. I agree they challenge Swiss on pricing but even PRC love high price goods, not cheap and high quality goods. The Swiss esp ETA and SW even soprod don't want to be in that segment

ST - seagull movement all start with ST

Seiko themselves have nice movement but I never understand why I seldom see their movements in other brands. Is it because Seiko is unwilling to sell or other brands unwilling to buy?

Miyota of Citizen is getting fast adoption and I'm seeing them more and more in 4 digit watches.

I don't have any experience with Chinese movements but from what I've read, they're good movements for the money if you can get them cheap, especially the seagull movements. The only big con that everyone complains about is the loud rotor noise.

唔系无。。。精工对外供应的机芯其实岩岩近年开始。如果无错，
NH35/36 系同 4R35/36 一样
NH25/26 系同 7S25/26 一样(?)
NE88 系机械计时表，同果个Ananta计时表一样？

其他品牌近期开始用精工NHXX芯，因为之前价钱顶唔过Miyota价。
大品牌用精工芯，除佐INVICTA之外。。。我就想唔到其他啰。。。

Gonna say both are nice and let the decision rest with you. :D

But before I sound like Tony Stark, my opinions:

The blue dial Seamaster is closer in spirit to the 007 one (hums tune), but I find the GMT one more appealing (cause I have very strong preference for black dial unless its the chameleon type seen on Nautilus)

Plus GMT function quite practical if you do use it. Only thing is as another poster mentioned, the big numbers not so swee. I do have a belief dive watch bezel should be the standard 60-min configuration.

There i said it. Two nice watches, which one?

I made some good friends in Tekong (one of which unfortunately passed away during NS) but the NS friends that I still meet up with are those that I met during OCS and later went to the same camp and battalion with.

To be honest, Tekong wasn't that tough (I found my NCC days to be much tougher, ironically) and times passed really fast due to how tightly packed training is. The only tough aspect is adjusting to the book in book out cycle and the NS lifestyle, and slowly feel yourself growing dumber when you wear green :s13::s13:
