For info. SIM LIM Square shop has xiaomi Redmi screen protector (normal one) @$8 for Clear glass and grossy, and some casing saling about $12.

Redmi has Corning Gorilla Glass 2 screen, so in the end I bought the Flip case and did not apply the screen protector.

Might be some location services. Possibly Google, or weather updates. FYI weather and location is constantly being updated at specific intervals. Perhaps those facing the issue can try allowing a proper GPS hookup by being directly under the open for the first time, because I do not see my GPS notification coming up. However, I always leave my GPS on by default, so if you are merely experiencing GPS turning back on by itself, instead of it appearing under Notifications, then you might have yourself a different set of issue which I cannot further assist.

Same issue. There's this atci services app that is triggering the gps on. Not sure what it does and whether ok to uninstall it.

The redmi is 720p so if play 1080p, only can 720p. Should be able to play smoothly, got a China 720p 8" tablet with lousier spec and larger screen(more taxing on the GPU), able to play 1080p on MX player smoothly. I guess shd be a walk in the park for Redmi too.

Symptom like listening to the music apps and opening the default browser, the music apps will automatically Off by itself...

Maybe a power profile config setting you can look at? Default one cleans memory every 5 mins, try creating a new profile which is set to NEVER to see if it might help?

Have you been using Google maps, Google navigation or other 3rd-party GPS utilities?

I bought the Redmi for my Myanmar helper and realized that it does not support Myanmar fonts. After installing the Myanmar keyboard from Playstore, the fonts does not display on screen when using the keyboard. I email Xiaomi and they reply me saying that the Singapore ROM does not support Myanmar fonts. Any idea to work around this issue?
