I think it is. Can't remember I an using 1S, redmi 1 was handed down.

Try TWRP, I used that to update to v6 cause my phone all messed up "playing" with different ROM pack.

As for KK not using SDcard for storage, think can be resolve.

That's something I regret.. Went to Xiaomi service Centre to go back to miui 5. Interesting, the service Centre wonder why this ota was push out...
