Omg... after some research... got people say the fakes got real info on the box... so can authenticate... But... the hardware not tally after installing some apps to determine the specs...

Seems best way to avoid fakes is to buy from xiaomi sg or telcos

In the default Xiaomi sms app, while sms to your contact, btm left is a plus icon/sign. Click that and you will see a "timed" with a clock/stopwatch icon on bottom right

you need to clear/cache/data of default sms. and use hangout right from the start.
