Few days liao.....so far so good....actually the back of the phone shouldnt be too hot....like what happened on Monday.
Dunno what happened. Normal shouldn't feel any heat.

I find the miui v7 so similar to apple iphone.....the sms whatsapp notification.......my iphone fren tot i switch to iphone liao.....lol.

Advice regarding Storage

Hope to seek some advice regarding storage system of Redmi 1.

1) What is the difference between Internal and Phone Storage? How to control where does the photos taken with the camera get stored?

2) Is there a way to keep all the viber and whatsapp photos in the SD card without incurring the internal or phone storage?

My Internal Storage is displaying
Available 805mb
Total 2.11GB

Phone Storage is displaying
Available 773mb
Total 847mb


SD card
Available 30.31GB
Total 31.90GB

Storage settings are all stored externally except themes.

Go to Settings > Additional settings > storage > storage settings (scroll all the way down).
Set everything external storage.
I have to save the pictures in whatsapp manually....n move them to external storage. Delete the picture in internal storage.

Think Whatsapp still stored in Internal Storage. Have to manually move to External Storage.

Hmm....it happened again this morning.....back of phone feels extremely hot and red light blinking.....left 8%.

Last night before sleep still got about 80%...so didnt charge....

the syncing software FastCopy cannot detect the microsd card in my Xiaomi Redmi 2. tried other syncing softwares, same result. so how to sync the microsd card files and folders in Redmi 2 with the computer ? think the Mi PC suite also cannot do that.

Must put into the root of the SD card and renamed it as update right..
root-stable.zip i also placed in the same folder

Attached a screenshot of the PHONE and INTERNAL memory section. The EXTERNAL memory is the SD Card.

Objective is to find ways to locate the large filesize media in INTERNAL and PHONE and transfer them out to EXTERNAL which does not seems to be an easy task. You realised the memory total does not adds up too to the displayed total file size too.

open it in windows and use search commands to find files larger than 1mb. did you upgrade ur system to latest? mine has same problem n slightly fixed after upgrading.

Im using Redmi 1s....MIUI 8.....8.0.1.0 KHCMIDG Stable

The upgrade like not as wow as 6 to 7. 7 to 8 like not much difference.
Mainly just bells n whistles upgrade.

The camera dun have the green ring to signify already in focus liao.
The pull down menu is like Samsung liao....thin bar left n right scroll...still prefer the old 7 version where everything is there.
Not much have change in other functions.

Only one thing i like is the calculator.....there is a quick access panel now where you can do on the fly conversion like length, temp, mass....etc.
I work in factory so sometimes can be handy....but if you work in admin office then not much use.

IMHO, can just stay with ver 7.

Is the SIM card bug fix? That's can one turn off either SIM card when the default function (dial or Internet) for each of the slot is set?
