Is the SIM card bug fix? That's can one turn off either SIM card when the default function (dial or Internet) for each of the slot is set?

I never use this function.....so Im not aware of this bug.....

Do you mind testing this out? Just set the default function of your SIM card to dial/Internet and turn it off. If there is error message meaning the bug is still there as Miui 6 and below work fine.

If it is too troublesome for you, I understand.

At the Sim Card & Mobile Network....
Default Setting .... Dial Not Set, Internet M1.
I got 2 sim cards....1st is M1 n 2nd is Starhub.

How to proceed? The phone will not allowed me to turn off my M1 sim. I normally turn off my Starhub when i go overseas.

Sent from Asus ME173X using GAGT

Same here, my M1 is purely for Internet (data) access. If this is what you're facing that meant that the SIM bug is still there. For those on Miui 6 and below, this feature work without any problem. I'm not sure whether 3rd party app and overcome this as I'm on Miui 6 and too lazy to keep trying and getting the same result.

Shame on you, Miui developers, I reported this bug donkey months ago and it's still not fix. Yet have the gut to claim this is how it should work! =:p

You can only turn off the M1 SIM because it's been assigned to Internet.

You sure about this?

Just think about this for a moment. Assigning default function (dial or internet) for a SIM card/slot and whether the card/slot is active or not is two different thing.

Sorry my bad.

I meant to say that you CANNOT turn off M1 SIM card because it has been assigned to Internet. You can however turn off Mobile Data on the SIM card assigned to Internet.

Well the thing is, this feature long exist in Miui 6 and work fine irregardless to what function was assigned to it. In short, it's a bug which Miui developer fail to acknowledge and fix.

Hi I have a redmi 1 SG version
I noticed that when the phone was bought few yrs ago, the whatsapp folder was directed to the SD card directory without root or special app which does symbolic link sucha as Link2SD.
I understand that whatsapp website mentioned that it is impossible to save the media into SD card but this is true.
Now I have flashed with MIUI V6.6.6.1.0 and whatsapp directory could only be in the phone storage.

Could the issue of the whatsapp directory not being able to install SD card due to MIUI version or whatsapp version?

I am trying to downgrade to MIUI V5 to test but this seems difficult with the MI Recovery

I guess I will need TWRP installed in order to downgrade to MIUI 5

Any advice?

Thanks

Hi all, help is needed!

All the while I've been using 2 Sims, postpaid SingTel (Slot 1) and SingTel data only Sim (Slot 2).

Only recent when I swapped Postpaid SingTel for Prepaid M1, setting as "dial" and/or 2G network, the M1 Sim shows "No service". (I've tried swapping slots as well, if M1 prepaid slotted for Sim 2, "No service" as well.)

And advice for successful use of both M1 prepaid and Mobile Data Sim?

It is possible that M1 has started to phase out 2G in the area you are in. To confirm if 2G service is still available, put your M1 SIM in slot 1 and change network type to 2G.

Thanks!
M1 Prepaid will show "no service" when Data only Singtel is switched On...

M1 prepaid will only work on LTE network, if 3g and 2g are selected, no services are shown...:s22:

I plaaning to port over to post paid, but deciding if I shoul port over to M1 (Cost), or Singtel.

Which xiaomi/redmi model you using? For me, i am using very 1st version Redmi, and my setting is slot1 - postpaid starhub data only, slot2-prepaid starhub for calls.

i remember i read somewhere, slot1 is for 3g/2g and slot2 for 2g only. So, it's better to put data card on slot1 for 3g speed.

I think i met similar issues before. Vaguely remember how to solve it.
But maybe you can try this method:
- turn phone's setting to OFF for both sim, remove all sim cards and turn phone off
- insert 1 card at a time
- insert card for calling on slot2 first and turn phone & slot2 sim setting: ON and ensure slot2 is activated/registered on network.
- turn off phone again and redo the same step for slot1- data sim

Gd luck!
