So far the phone is decent.
Only negative thing (imo), no light on the home/back panel. when in dark place it's kind hard to view or locate it.

Yup, I noticed that too but I think after a while, your finger will know where the buttons are.

how is mediatek so far

If Mediatek 6589T chip is slow you are always welcome to pay more than 2x on a Samsung for a even slower chip and a much lower res screen.

yep. it soft because it has single speaker only. imo, it ok for me. since it's 169 price tag.

agree. although I wish pressing the home button also activates the screen. Can't seem to find the option to do this in the settings menu

The trouble with these modern smartphones, they may be very feature packed but their documentation really sucks. There are probably a lot of features which we may not use because we do not know they exist.

really goes to show the amount of thought the MIUI developers put into the app...one stood out,

Camera shutter can be voice activated, I just tried it and it works! I said "pie" (take picture in chinese) which is what the tip said. pretty cool I think, probably designed for selfie folks haha

Yup, the gps works. I tested it with the street directory app. That's the one which allows me to download the entire SG map free of charge so I can use it offline.

Have not tried banking apps but I don't see a problem.

Go to Theme -> Local tab -> select your Theme -> scroll down at the theme page

I didn't own iphone 4 but I have the sgs2, so comparing redmi vs sgs2, I think the speaker is louder than sgs2, and I'm only about less than 3/4 to max.

One cool thing is the youtube app auto pauses when you press the the volume button then resumes after you finish adjusting. pretty neat
