It is online only. The telcos have their own allocation. I got no idea if they are releasing any to the stores officially or those are parallel imports.

For back cover and other non sensitive items , buy direct from taobao. They can shipped directly to you. Register an account with Taobao sg. (better read the FAQ there)...cheers

How taobao shipping time compared to aliexpress ? So far I only buy from aliexpress and take advantage of their free registered post shipping but it can take anything from 2 to 6 weeks to arrive.

Just to check - New to Hongmi and interested to buy

1) It has 2 sim card slot . The 2 sim slot is for standard sim or micro sim ? cos i am using standard sim card (1 st generation)

2) Hongmi can use for 2 G (for phone) and 3 G (for data connectivity ) right ?

3)How to root Hongmi ? or it has a option in the setting to turn on to root phone ?
any link to teach u how to root Hongmi.

4) If buy online thru xiaomi sg website , Is it consider a local set (have to go thru IDA - have a IDA sticker) or Is a export set ?

Thanks in advance for answering the above

1) Yes, both SIM card slots are Standard SIM Card slots.

2) The SIM slot on the left is WCDMA (3G) / Data and the one on the right is 2G only. Of course the left can also be use with 2G voice SIM.

3) You need to use framaroot to root the phone but I am not sure if rooting with void the warranty, you need to check with Xiaomi about that.

On Xiaomi forum, I read

I found ways to move app to sdcard.

1. Must root phone
Download framaroot 1.9.1, choose boromir and restart phone. This will install supersu app and also root the phone.
http://www.google.com.sg/url?sa=t&r...YNrQcR8rM14Hk-g&bvm=bv.61965928,d.bmk&cad=rja

2. Install System app remover (ROOT)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jumobile.manager.systemapp

There is setting on the app to move app to sdcard. And also to uninstall system app.

4) Yes, if you buy from the Xiaomi website, you will get full 12 months local warranty. It is a local set but there is no IDA sticker that I find.
