Yes picture lags when using camera.

My redmi is rooted but it still prompts me latest update is available. Can I go ahead to do wireless update?

Did you loose root access after updating to latest OTA MIUI-JHBSGBA13.0 rom?

I can no longer root using Framaroot v1.9.1 after rom update. The device was previously unrooted.

I have another redmi rooted the same way successfully but am reluctant to upgrade the rom now because of this.

You are right. Think they patched the exploit. Have to wait for new framaroot Liao

Can we disable some of Google apps? Like G+, Google music, etc? I don't use those anyways.

so far encountered two problems with redmi,

1. GPS cannot find a fix location, and when it established a fix location it's not accurate.

2. SMS problematic (i.e OTP, checking prepaid card value)

updated to the latest official MIUI version via OTA.

anyone has a work around on the above issues?

Problems were before or after the latest rom upgrade?

Yes it works you need a working position fix to calibrate compass, either wifi positioning or gps

I also think so because I tried it 2 days ago on Thursday night, immediately after I got delivery of the phone.

Compass didn't seem to work until I turned on wifi and GPS.

Then once calibrated, the compass continues to work even without wifi or GPS.

1) How to tell your phone is running on qualcore ?
I have use cpuz to check it show 4 core but only 1 core is showing 1.5Ghz (0 core - fluctating ) while other 3 core (No.1,2,3 core) show stopped.

2) The date format can't be change it alway show mm/dd/yy. while i already set to dd/mm/yy.

3)GPS not so accurate but somewhere there. (have turn on GPS)

Any advice. Thank in advance

Below is my 2 cents:
  1. I think the cores usage is depending on the app to utilise them.
  2. I remember my mum's Redmi was able to change to the dd/mm/yy format. (Need to confirm)
  3. Yes. It is not too accurate even with GPS turn on. I suspect is more of a software calibration issue.

With some getting used to the shutter lag, and right amount of natural sunlight ...the $169 Redmi continues to surprise me.

In Gold Coast now as my defacto mobile device.
