Dun need warranty, they just check phone imei.

I just got the Xiaomi phone for my parent.

kinda headache for me to figure it out.

I cant connect it to my desktop. I googled.

told me to dl a driver which i did. dl on my pc, and installed it.

i also dl it on the phone via wifi and installed it.

then connect via USB, then go to developer options to enable USB debugging. but still cannot connect. I wanna transfer files to sd card or read the files in the phone.

my desktop keeps prompting and popping up a message says New Hardware Found, says wanna stall something.

did everything but still cannot read. using WinXP.


2) how to go to the options to set the camera to save photos into hp internal storage or save to SD card? I cant find this option.

Winxp not very friendly to android phones.. Win7 much better...

Lucky u. Mine is ups. I called them up and they say won't receive till Friday. No logic? It's already in Singapore but won't deliver till Friday?

Some cso duno one . Anyhow tell you only friday can release. The more helpful ones will then check for u

i had problems with some android phones on xp too, but those phones are ok on win7.. guess it really depends..

from what I've been reading, it is believed that once you insert your SD card, the phone will detect it and your stuff will go to the SD card by default.
your apps will forever remain in your phone though.. lol

For your qns 1, try the steps as mention below:

First connect your phone to your computer via data cable, pull down the notification panel from the top of the phone, click “USB connected”, and then click "Turn on USB storage”.

For qns 2: have you insert the sd card? Once you insert the sd card, all your photos will save to sd card by default.

Getting android phones to work with winxp through mtp is a pain.. so you can either try upgrading to win 7 or later or try using the pre ICS usb connection mode:

Download QCustomShortcut!
It's available onto PlayStore.

Install-it, and open-it...

Choose a 'Shortcut Name' as : USB Connection
For 'Package', choose : com.android.settings
For 'Class', choose : com.android.settings.UsbSettings

Click on button [ Create Shortcut ] (this place shortcut onto MIUI desktop).

To test the shortcut, connect your phone at the computer, by USB, and click on the shortcut ... this launch 'USB computer connexion' to manage few USB modes.
