Planning to buy xiaomi power bank battery this tuesday 6 May. Anybody wanna share shipping cost if buy 2? Collection will be in Sengkang. Please PM me.

LOL, is it worth it to share? unless you subsidise fully the $5, if not the other buyer has to travel which is really stupid. :s13:

Anyone knows will Hongmi be able to use 3G in thailand? I'm planning to get 1 on this 6th may sale. I know this is a pretty noob question, but i would need help ...:sad:

yes, most likely can, if my iphone 4 last time can use in thailand, means the redmi also can. going to buy a 3g sim in thailand this coming 11th may in BKK, will see how it works.

Actually I'm still having problems with my Redmi GPS.I turned on access to my location and GPS satellites but when I try to locate myself using Google maps it just says waiting for location and nothing happens. Under the notifications in the pull down tab it says searching for GPS. Anyone else experiencing this too? I updated to latest miui.

Did you allow google maps to have access to your location perimission? Besides turning on GPS satellites & WIFI & Mobile network under location sources.

Mine works perfectly fine. Grab my indoor location in my office in less than 30 secs.

Where do you find the settings for allowing Google maps to have permission? When I turn on wifi and mobile location it can find me but using gps alone cannot.

MIUI Android ROM - Redefining Android - Unofficial MIUI support since 2010

rooting n flashing may sound easy but things can easily go wrong if a single step is missed. so read carefully n understand more.

just a note that there is no recovery tools to "restore back to sgrom" if i'm not wrong so please double check.

I'm able to get back to stock recovery. Just flash with the default sg rom but not the latest version, Version12 (d/l from xiaomi website). After that you will still see the TWRP recovery but nvm, boot up normally. From the updater, you will d/l the latest rom from there (a smaller packager) and choose to update via recovery.

After the update, reboot into recovery, and you will see your stock recovery.

yes flashing a new rom will update your recovery from there when it extract the recovery from your package and replace your current recovery.

or u can just flash it with the zip from miui forum.

have been trying to find the zip, any idea where is it? I tried the latest stock ROM v13 and flash via TWRP but the TWRP recovery will still be there. Hence I tried with v12 stock ROM, same the TWRP recovery is still there.

End up, when I boot up the phone, the updater detects the new v13 ROM and I choose to update via recovery and that is how I got back the stock recovery.

today was the first time I tried buying a Redmi, and I succeed! Too bad, I didn't know the website wasn't Firefox compatible. By the time I changed to IE, the 196$ bundle was sold out

You should use Chrome which is faster as got better user-friendly auto fill-up feature.

nevertheless, congratulation, welcome to Xiaomi family.

Same as what I experienced. Gps will lock on faster when you are outdoor. This is a known issue for phones using the mtk6589 chipset. My previous China phone had this issue as well and needed 20min to finally get a lock.

My Redmi only needed about a few minutes to get the lock on. So not too bad. Just don't expect the instantaneous lock on as you get from the snapdragon chips.

How to check call duration/log for All Calls made so far? I cant find it. Sorry if it has been asked before..

Press Phone app, under Recent tab, select the contact number you are looking for, tap the arrow on the right side of the contact number, then you can check the call duration there.

sadly, no backlight; i suspect many still don't know; this is the only major minus of budget phones at this level

Xiaomi Redmi, entire Asus Zenfone range, Huawei Honor 3C all have Home, Menu, Back keys that don't light up :( Just check youtube videos, then watch closely as the keys remain unlit

if it really costs so much to put in backlight, then they should just use onscreen buttons, e.g. Motorola Moto G.

paiseh, rant over...
